Field Guide:Wächter (Guardian)
The Wächter is a species of dragon that are bred by the Woodland Elves to be guardians of the Elven Realms. Small in stature but tenacious in battle and loyal to the death, these golden dragons are sometimes even given as gifts to humans whom the elves deem worthy.

Vormund is the german word for a custodian. Is there a reason why you picked this name?

More broadly vormund can mean custodian, guardian, tutor or warden. Basically someone or something that watches over ot takes care or someone or something else. Vormunds are used as "guard dogs" by several elf and human races in my story

Oh you meant why I chose a German word itself. I'm sorry. I was inspired by the fact that Tolkien based his epic Lord of the Ring saga as an alternate fantasy history of Britain. I liked that idea but I wanted to try to include many cultures including several European, Asian, African and even native cultures of the Americas. I've always admired the Germanic history and was definitely going to include them. Not being a decedent of many of the cultures I am referencing I am doing my best to be respectful. Hopefully I am

I see, interessting idea! But Vormund is only used for someone, who is the legal replacement for someone who isn't able to decide for himself. Wächter, Aufpasser or Hüter would fit better when talking about a guardian. But nevermind, it's your decision as an artist!

Thank you, glad to help you. Attention, it's written with ä (the a with the two dots above it which only exists in germanic languages)! I know, such special letters could cause troubles in the internet because not every font knows them. So it's legal following the german orthographic rules to replace it by an ae. Wächter or Waechter would be correct in this case.
