Description Well,
I made two images, which I posted here earlier, and planet and a nebula, but neither of them were very interesting. So I thought maybe if I put the planet in the nebula pic it might be better. And then I thought maybe if I add some more smoke and light coming out of the planet it would be better. And then I thought a beam of light (or comet?) hitting the planet would make it look even better. And it did. So I added a shockwave thing and a few more touchs and here it is. Theres still some things that I need to do, like make the smoke around the beam near the end more smokey looking and some other minor configurations but its basicly finished. And I might sell prints at zazzle or somewhere, see who would buy it
Favs, comments, critism/suggestions, and everything encouraged.
Took about 12 hrs all together probably. All done in Photoshop 7.

Nice form. . . one of those you can't stop looking at even though it may not be so detailed (the blurriness makes me feel it isn't anyway). Good one this

Nice colours. Lovely text, although unnecessary, but it's just a BIT too freeform and abstract for me. Maybe a tighter reign on details?

Hey. Yea this is a really olf piece, one of the first space pics I made. Heh, and before space I used to do abstract stuff, so I guess that somewhat influenced this piece. I just submitted the print, so it must've came up in your deviantWatch.
Actually, I'm surprized at the amount of favoutrites, etc the piece is getting, but I've always liked it so I'm not complaining

You can always count on the simple equation of planetary mass favouritism:

collision + hoards of planet-loving newbies = big favcount.

(not being too serious here)

Great color choices and imagery here. I love the comet's trail and the shockwave particularly--their look gives the whole thing an ethereal look.

However, I think your planet tends to disappear a bit too easily into the shockwave. I had to look at the fullview to see where the planet was because of its dark nightside, and the space background. Just a thought. Maybe make your planet a little bit bigger, so it's a little more visible so people can see it right off and say "omg that rockball's bein' pwned"...

By the time a shockwave/Explosion that large had occured I'd imagine the planet would at least have some pretty significant cracks in it. Maybe already having some large chunks seperating from each other. That's my only critique man. Friggin awesome work. Excellent brushing. Great job bro

you've got a knack for good atmosphering - nicely done, though for some reason i find the shockwave a lil weird to me... judging by your beam, it seems like its a high energy flux beam, so at the point of impact with the planet the shockwave spreads extremely fast - in multiple wavelengths and velocity. therefore i feel, although what you might want to depict here is the beginning of impact when the shockwave just started, there should be one or two more waves, at wide spread and veeeeeeeeery low opacity.

*ooh effects of too much university level maths and physics getting into my head*
