Description
Ok, so I came home from school today, had a nice hot lemon and honey drink ( I have a cold, it sucks
Anyway, I really love the way this piece turned out. I played around with some textured overlays, which really gives the nebula less of a painted look. And makes it look, well, textured
Interpret the name as you will
Edit: I decided I didn't like the texture overlay, so I removed it and ended up adding a bit more detail to the piece as well. Plain painted style > texture overlays of rock or bark or whatever it was.

there is extremely obvious talent in your work, shown by your control of the colors and light. It is intensely beautiful...

Although technically he's not even putting that much effort into it. He's just taking various nebula photos, warping them, overlaying them and shifting them around so that they look different from the originals and then he's just applying simplistic layer blend modes with heavy dodge and burn to get that uber shiny/sparkly effect. He also uses the 3D rendering program Terragen to make a lot of his base material.
This is all just uber simplistic stuff. Once you understand the techniques you can see just how cheap the work really is. Just because something looks really incredible doesn't mean that it took an incredible amount of effort and skill to make.
One of the most popular forms of creating "incredible" looking art is by using digital photo painting techniques. Where you basically take a real photograph and then you just use the smudge and blur tools over it to make it look like an incredibly realistic painting.

That's what we like to call "Poser Class Artwork" ^__^

Oh look, a clueless n00b.job, how cute! Granted I'm not using one of my primary nymes, but still, Farfoos is fairly well known amongst my aliases.
I believe I started actively using it, mmm...sometime around 2002 I believe. I think it was about five years after I first started using my Onideus nyme and I think that was sometime around 1997...I'd have to look it up in Google to be sure.
Be careful though child, although *YOU* don't seem to have any content on your DA page, your little friends do, and I really don't think you want any of them to become the subjects of *MY* particular art form, which is, well...a bit too ~deviant~ for "Deviant Art":

I've no need at all to hide online and I never have, not since I started posting in the late 80s, early 90s. Although back then hardly anyone posted anonymously, it was only after all the kiddies started getting online that, that trend became so popular (mostly because so many of them are underage and talkin shit).
I haven't been in too many physical fights in the real world, but I've been in enough to know that I'm a lot stronger than most people, especially those that like running at the mouth. Here's a semi-recent picture of me:

Although I have learned the hard way that just because your bones and muscles are uber strong, that doesn't mean your nervous system is.
I did a lot of stupid shit when I was younger, thinkin that I was practically invincible, the high point involved getting nailed in the cross walk by this girl named Britney Spoonmore at about 40 miles per hour.
I was somewhat lucky in that I kind of saw it coming, so I jumped onto the hood right as it hit my leg and then I rolled off the side...only to have the side view mirror firmly implanted into my back as it was ripped off of the door. I walked away from it, had a lot of bruising at the time, hurt like a fuckin son-of-a-bitch, but no broken bones.
Unfortunately, years later, I found out that significant damage had been done, to my nervous system, and I now have several dead spots and numb spots in various places on my back and legs, along with constant, unending horrible fucking pain. Because of that I get to spend the rest of my life taking prescription narcotics to try and dull the effects.

LOL, it's an art form, Invective Word Art, or the art of Verbal Conflagration, along with social engineering or SE Hacking, which is the art of hacking people's minds through the use of advanced psychological tactics. As well as IPA, or Internet Performance Art.
It's generally not supposed to be meant as actually hurtful or damaging, however it's a *LOT* funnier when your intended target takes it that way.
That's usually the general point of the art online, trying to find people who treat the Internet like it's the real world and then exploiting them for the entertainment or LULZ.

Farfoos In reply to synax444 [2009-11-08 14:25:15 +0000 UTC]
Well since the image is just a simplistic manipulation of existing stock photos it can hardly be called his. Who ever owns the base nebula photos he used is the one who really owns the image, not him.

Actually, no it isnt, but you can keep thinking that if you want to continue being foolish.
Are you aware that ther are actually good artists out there? Just because he painted some "pillars" you have to assume he stole it, hilarious, and rather ignorant. Do some research before assuming things.

LOL, I love physical combat just as much as I love the verbal kind. My full identity, address, phone number, etc is all freely available on the grid, posted by me. I can fuck someone up in the real world just as easily as I can online...although as I adhere to core trolling ethics of Usenet I don't ever take it to that level first.
It's generally unacceptable to take things online to the RL level unless your opponent goes there first...although it is acceptable to try and bait your opponent into it. ^__^
Of course I'm no hypocrite troll, or IPA Artist as we're generally known amongst those in the know, as such I can freely attack myself just as easily as I can others:

Granted it's all faked, but still, it's funny as hell. Plus I spent a lot of money on those "fan art" commissions, some which of are really quite badass.
