Going along with my last piece, this is the concept art for Jo and the creature that lopped her arm off. I wrote a piece about it a couple years ago that I'm debating posting? (I was going to do a comic but it was a lil intimidating to try at the time lol)

Jo was about 20 when this happened, still a brainwashed soldier for the Melek. She's wearing the traditional battle armor of their military, since this happened before her supersoldier group got their specialized armor. The creature is... well, no one knows! Jo managed to kill it but even after studying its corpse no one could figure out what it was and where it came from, only that it was probably responsible for a bunch of disappearances.

What they do figure out later is it wasn't the only one wandering around, but the creatures and the danger they pose are kind of downplayed by the Melek in favor of the war they want everyone to be focusing on!
