Are the others mean to Ratchet in G1? I just started watching it today, so I have no idea what the characters are like.

They aren't actually mean to him. I might say that nobody is very mean to anyone in G1. Beware when you're watching G1 that you won't be able to grasp the characters from it at all and that the episodes are most of the time very embarrassing
The Transformers comics that use the G1 characters are another story though, because they rock

I just watched a few episodes. The inconsistencies are endless. (Also the symbols are sometimes mixed up. I saw Soundwave with an Autobot symbol. XD)

If you're feeling really bad like you seem to be, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to see a psychiatric for once or twice. I'm also pretty sure that it's normal to feel really horrible when something like that happens - At least I think if my bro kicked the bucket all the sudden I would be totally frozen D:

Yeah, it mustn't be easy to be a medic, especially when you happen to lose a patient (I've been reading some of the old comments in here). But what it's even worse are the relatives of said patients and their reactions: here it happens too often that they blame the medic because "you didn't do enough to save him/her!"
From my point of view (and I'm not a medic), that must be even harder to stand :C

I'm not a doctor either, but I know quite the few of them and yes it's like that. I guess it's just a humane reaction to find a scapegoat to blame instead of accepting the things as they are. People just don't think that it might hurt the doctor and that they are humans as well :/

It's the side of Ratchet so many ignore in favor of focusing on the wretch-thrower. I really like it because so many forget what it can be like for Ratchet if it doesn't go so well. The energon spill + towel reminds me of that blue thing with Bluestreak you drew some time ago.

Yeah people tend to forget that characters are supposed to be three dimensional in the favour of making it easier for them to fit the characters in their stories/art. Well of course there are some characters that seem to get decent writing, but some of them are like haunted with black and white writing.
Also very much boo to my friend. I feel so bad atm because of her "little" stunts she's been pulling on me.
