Ambrosia felt her heart stop as the door slammed shut and Wicke ran out. She stood in front of the door before slowly grabbing the handle of the front door
"Juko sweetie please watch your sibling" Ambrosia said as she opened the door taking a deep breath "don't think you got off Scott free missy, we are having a talk when we get home." she said a small bit more harsh but not enough to really hurt before closing the door leaving the wyngling with the egg not even looking back to check what had been broken.

Ambrosia ran after Wicke hoping to find her. The running made her very tired but her rapid beating heart made it hard to think.
'Why was Juko talking about Atticus like Wicke hated him' then it hit her it's the egg. Her heart stopped as the reason hit her
“I didn't...tell her” her eyes began to sting as she began to run faster “this is my fault this is mine…”
She ran around for what seemed like forever and her chest began to ache as tears fell from her eyes “Wicke...Wicke im sorry” she cried for what seemed like the millionth time

Was she ever gonna be able to find her again, the thought of it scared Amb. Though eventually she had to stop it was becoming to much for the pink gro as she fell onto her knees trying to catch her breath. She couldn't go on, not tonight anyway. She started to sob. She would never forgive herself if she never saw her again.

“Sorry for what.” The voice came, sharp and contrasted from the soft sounds of Ambrosia’s crying. Wicke was standing there, about three yards away, her face bearing a strange expression. It was a question, but blunt and stony like a statement.

“What exactly are you sorry for?” She repeated, and her expression shifted into something like a manic desperation. Searching Ambrosia’s face, though for what, she wasn’t even sure if she knew herself.

Ambrosia bolted up, ignoring the stinging in her chest and jumped face first into Wicke. She buried her face into her chest, but soon she realized before pushing herself away rubbing her eyes.
“I am So sorry Wicke, I-I didn’t think, I was blind I just...I was blinded by my own needs and I am so sorry that I didn’t tell you.” She attempted to grab Wicks claw but stopped herself. “I just...I didn't want you to leave me cause I was going far to fast for you.” she took a deep breath in “Though you have full” she felt choked up “you have the right to leave me here and now”

Wicke was frozen in place, restrained by the weight of the fear she had for herself, even as Ambrosia tugged at her. Her face remained steady, robotic and lifeless as Ambrosia choked out her response. There was a beat of silence, and the strange stillness in Wicke seemed to break.

A line creased on the bridge of her nose as her brows gnarled her features, a striking visage of rage and pain and sorrow and fear ripping across her face. Her strong posture bent, shoulders sagging forward as she trembled. But she didn’t say anything. She was terrified of the consequences to anything she could say, really. She could scream and thrash and break like she so desperately wanted to do. She could take out all the built-up anger that festered in the hollow spaces in her chest. But she would lose Ambrosia. Every bit of stability in her life would wash away, and she would be ripped out to sea without a float already half drowned.

The other option would be to bury it all. Not let any of the anger up, and keep it down there forever. To say she forgave her, even if her heart trembled at the thought.

“Your needs.” Her voice came out, finally, an involuntary hiss as eyes squinted. “You cheated on me, Ambrosia. You cheated on me and didn’t even have the decency to be ashamed about it.” Her voice was slowly rising in volume, now, eyes glinting with a sort of horrible, primal something.

“Don’t you realize? You’re all I have! I- I’m supposed to be able to trust you!!” Her tail whipped against the ground with a soft fwap as tears threatened to creep into her voice. “And I did! I trusted you with- with all of me! Every part, even if… Even i-if I’d been told that it was bad and shameful and horrible! I trusted you!!!” She screamed, eyes squeezing shut as her voice bounced off the trees. She trembled with an anger she couldn’t express.

When she continued, her voice was soft, rough and bitter.

“I… I Can’t… I can’t trust you anymore, Ambrosia. You didn’t trust me enough to let you into your life. Your family. You wanted it all to yourself and didn’t even… Did you even think about how I might’ve felt? I-I’m supposed… to be important to you.” Her eyes searched Ambrosia’s face for a moment before her vision swam with tears. She felt her throat start to close up, and she shook her head wordlessly.

Posture reading utter defeat, Wicke shuffled to the side and past Ambrosia, back towards town, head hung and long dark hair covering her face in an attempt to hide the tears that ran tracks down her cheeks.

Ambrosia stood there her wings drooped so low they just barely dusted the dirt under her. Her heart was gone she had never felt this kind of pain before, she felt like everything she had ever done. All the work she had put to being a good member of society has been erased. Nothing was worth it anymore, She failed the guilt the shame that built inside her was becoming to much for her as she began to hold herself humming softly as if she’s singing herself a lullaby.

The pink gro started back home, wherever that was no more tears falling just the pain in her stomach that won't go away. Maybe it never will.
