Here is a project I've just finished from school. the theme was "mythology" I chose to paint from the norse mythology. so the characters you see, are Odin, Midgardsormen, Fenrisulven, Hugin and Munin, and Sleipner. Sorry for the bad editing. I had to use the photoshop tool called puppet warp to make it look more like it could be scanned. sadly the picture is too big for scanning.

I used watercolors for this painting.

Very nicely done! You might try going to a local printer or copy shop to get a full scan. Here in Albuquerque, a copy shop charges just a couple of dollars. Some FedEx locations, also, have large scanners.

there are no local printer or copy shops here that have big enough scanners.
i have one skanner for a3 sized papers, but its way too small :/

My only other idea would be to use your digital camera. Borrow all the incandescent and fluorescent lights you can, hang the work on a wall, and use a tripod (and the shutter delay function of the camera). Trying to match edges of partial scans of a painting in Photoshop is a chore.

I have quite a few paintings and drawings that I've never scanned, just because they don't fit on the scanner. Sometimes, an idea demands a bigger canvas, and ideas should be listened to.

I've just done a study of a square in a town in Spain. I'm working for some students in America - they are paying me to paint backgrounds for their animation. But I can't show those, obviously. Hopefully I will have some big pieces up soon. What are you working on at the moment?
