Really beautiful painting...and a little sad at the same time. The red flowers give a nice contrast to the greys.
Why is the wolf hunted in Norway, if their numbers aren't high? Isn't there any preservation programme?

the numbers of wolves left in norway is almost nothing now. they are talking about killing them all. making them extinct in the country... same about bears.

That sounds really silly and unnecessery...I signed some petitions against the killing, I really do hope they won't do it. Unless they're posing a threat and can't be fought by other means (trained sheepdog for example, in case they pose a threat to livestock), this sounds terrible....

I have been aware of the wolf hunting in Norway. It's such a tragedy that these things happen. but hopefully if we humans all come together we can save other lives through raising awareness and education. this is a stunning piece!

Stunning eye candy and tribute to the Norway wolf. I know here in Michigan, for a while that's all I was hearing on the news too. Last I heard the Great Lake Wolves are now protected and, haven't looked it up yet, but I do believe they are no longer being hunted either. I hope the same can be done for Norway too.

Such gorgeous art! It's sad to hear that your wolves are getting hunted so does they here in Finland too. We have poachers, because someones hate and/or fear wolves, and also it is too easy to have permssion to kill wolves. It seems that if a wolf have been seen near settlement it will get killed. In Lapland in reindeer areas there are no wolves because reindeer owners want to kill every wolf which goes in there. They fear that wolves will hunt the reindeers. And it's stupid in my opinion because there are too much reindeers in Lapland and they eat all the vegetation, disturbing the ecosystem.

This is actually really freakin sad. Not the art, (I think it's amazing what you've done here) the fact that wolves are being hunted. In Alaska, a famous wolfpack just... vanished. Due to hunting. Nearly 80 years of research, and just like that, all of them gone. The last three that were known to be alive were a female and her two pups. And then? They were gone, too. The wolves were being hunted both legally and illegally. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! Wolf hunting should be illegal, no questions asked. I actually do want kids in the future to be able to learn about and even be close to a wolf! It's been proven that wolves actually don't mind humans! As long as we don't bother them, they don't bother us! I heard that a wolf mother actually let scientists take her pup for a bit to put a collar on him, and even though she waited outside the scientist's base, she was patient! I want these animals to stay prosperous. So to all of you who think that wolf hunting is okay for a myriad of reasons (such as because they're "taking your animals on your farm" or "there's too many of them"), you're WRONG. You keep a dog in your house, right? Or a cat? If a cat catches a bird, to you get rid of the cat because it did something totally natural? No, because you love that cat. It's your pet, right? You love your pet, right? Apply that logic to the wolfpack in Alaska. People LOVED those wolves. And they actually HELPED scientists. And people out there decided to take their lives. Again, think of that like a pet of your own. Say said pet does something to the neighbors, and they didn't like it. So do they just take said pet's life? NO!
As I said, great art. You got a watch because of this, but the topic just upsets me.

This is just beautiful, really. Sometimes I say that to many people and I don't really mean it. but this time, for real, this is beautiful. So detailed. I can see all the dedication you had to put in this. Keep goin'. This would look fantastic as a tattoo or something.

This reminds me of something similar I did when they had just shot that wolf back when I went in my third year of high school 5 years ago. We had a project about making some sort of a message and I made one looking like this (without text) It just reminded me of this when I saw your drawing.

Really? Wolf hunt is allowed in Norway? I thought we are out of the middle ages...
Maybe a small comfort: Wolves are coming back to Germany now - where I live so I don't exactly know about other countries. They are migrating from the east, from Poland, and the population grows. So at least - somewhere they survive...
Though, the "middle ages point" can also be said about many germans, sadly.
And nevertheless: A great picture!

well thats good atleast a little bit comforting to hear.
Lets hope they dont do as here suddenly, cut the numbers of wolves in half...

I hope so!
Unfortunately, Germany was a wolfless country since some hundred years, and some people are now afraid that wolves will eat their children like in the fairytale with the girl with the red hood because they just don't know anything about wolves besides that fairytale.
But there is hope that we can find a way to live WITH wolves and all the other wild animals around
I think there must be some pro-wolves-organisations in Norway, too?
Have a nice day!

Ah yes, the good old "Let's shoot even though scientific studies show what we're doing doesn't benefit the population at all".
I read somewhere there are plans to even allow shooting golden eagles again in Norway "because they kill too many reindeer calves from the farmers". Sucks big time.
Regardless of that still a beautiful work. I love all those details and shades in here

yes, in the end humans are going to pay for destroying the eco system too.
but thats not the first issue. We dont have the right to descide who lives or dies. I look at it as a terrible crime.

You're welcome. I can see that like a tattoo design or art style for a video game design for some creature. But it's yours; do whatever with it.
Keep up the good work! ^_^
