I love this drawing, I saw it online quite recently. The idea of having Laura in a Striker Unit never really occurred to me, but you pulled it off incredibly well. And I can tell by the video you put an incredible amount of detail into this. Good job!

Yeah, I'm glad it worked out, but I have to admit I almost gave up on this idea actually..!
(You don't know how many thumbnail sketches I had to do before recording the video! Heheh)

I haven't seen Infinite Stratos but I've seen Strike Witches. Strike Witches didn't seem that interesting but this might be. You drawing is fantastic by the way!

the Shwarzen Regen got a major upgrade (as did all of the IS) and one of those features was Laura's Railgun was upgraded with Linear capacities. makeing her even more my favorite character.

I haven't watched the anime, so I wouldn't know..
But if I have to guess, she might be a genetically modified human..!

Neither did I so she could be a robot.

She's not a robot. She's a genetically engineered super soldier of the German IS (Infinite Stratos) Corps. Now, this picture is a crossover of Infinite Stratos and Strike Witches (Infinite Stratos being the character in the image, and Strike Witches being the Striker Units Laura is wearing and the dual MG42s she is wielding, much like Captain Barkhorn from the Strike Witches anime. Normally Laura would be using her personal IS, Swarchzer Regen, basically a mecha suit).
An interesting thing to note is, as I mentioned, she is sort of mimicking Captain Barkhorn from Strike Witches, a Witch a part of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, and Barkhorn hails from the country of Karsland in the Strike Witches setting, which is the analogue of real world Germany... the country from which Laura comes from in the Infinite Stratos anime.
However, they are not the same kind of shows, despite similarities, and to keep this post from getting any longer, I suggest you find the English Dubs of both Strike Witches and Infinite Stratos. They are quite good animes, if a little ecchi.

I'm actually pretty terrible too, but the trick is to use photo references. If it weren't for them, my guns would all look like some weird block shapes.
Sometimes, I trace them if I want to go faster.. But no one must know my secret..!

But maybe that's what keeps me going forward, and keep drawing

Perfectionism. I agree to that. It's sort of like an obsession. If only I wasn't such a procrastinator.

Eh.. Procrastinating is fine in my book. Sometimes I just don't feel like drawing anymore and that can last for weeks and months.. But once I get back into it, it seems somehow that I improved without having done anything.
Although, if you want to improve faster, procrastinating wouldn't work I guess..!

My art is MUCH suckier than yours and some people still tell me it looks really good (that's not to say your art is sucky. It's incredible!!!). Any incredible artist that still has potential they can pull out will never be satisfied with their work and will always strive to do better. That's the way I see it. Hell, Tite Kubo who draws one of the most artisticly appealing series in Shonen Jump says he constantly feels like he could do better. Just goes to show you your not alone on the path of no satisfaction. ^_^
