The theme for February 2013 was: "Creatures of the dark"

First I didn´t want to take part this month, because I hadn´t the right idea, but then I thought, hey it´s a CHALLENGE! What sense does it have, when I give up as soon as it got difficult?
So I began to implement my very first idea: Apart of the thoughts vampires, werewolfs and so on, I had to think immediately of Peter V Brett´s novel "The Painted Man".

In the world of this fantasy novel there are demons, named corelings, who rise from the underground when the night begins and who feed of humans. So the people have to hide behind wards (magical runes) that can be drawn, painted, or inscribed to form protective barriers. Arlen, the protagonist, is one of only few people who dares to travel in this land. Later he will find ways to fight against these corelings, but the drawing takes place when he begins to travel (and for those who know the books, Arlen have hurt Onearm yet)

Well that´s the story behind it (the books are really great, have a look at them!).

Oh and it´s VERY sketchy, I know^^ But I hadn´t the patience to work it out.
