This is my second entry for the foxfan DTA contest, and oh jeez it was a doozy xD After lots of inspiration (both from other art and music), I decided to make it a full pic with a sunset + cherry blossom theme.
this... was a challenge. My first proper background in SAI, in fact. Yep, I abandoned the safety and security of PS and all its custom brushes, and threw myself RIGHT into the deep end with this one. hoo boy. It was a challenge alright xD And it took me freaking FOREVER x_x

But can I just say I'm actually really pleased with it?? i mean.. there are a LOT of firsts here, and it didn't turn out really horrible like it could've done? While it was immensely time consuming (thOSE CHERRY BLOSSOMS MAN AAAGHHHADASDASD), it was also a LOT of fun to draw, and I learned a lot from it. It also captured the mood I was going for which is always a plus haha c:

Plus I just really, really love drawing this girl. Colouring her is still a challenge, but I'm getting the hang of it xDD I'm also already getting ideas for her personality, but I won't get too far ahead of myself in case I don't win her. xD
I also wanted to keep the lighting simple and pretty so as not to overdo it with details. I'm not too happy with the grass, but please note I drew every blade BY HAND so I guess it can be forgiven LOL. Everything was drawn by hand. Everything. An important part of being an artist is hating yourself after all I guess! lmao

ANYWAY, now that this is done and submitted, I'm gonna go to bed since it's after 5am xD oops
Comments + feedback would be MASSIVELY appreciated since I put so much effort into this, and I like how it came out and would love to know what you guys think!!

and of course there will still be more of her to come, but I also want to focus on other things too Hope you guys like this <3
