Lame title is kinda lame. A little clever maybe? Lol
Kind of a funny thing about this drawing is that it was originally supposed to be Nicolette but I decided to change it to Angelina cause I just wanted to do more art of her and I feel like she deserves a bit more attention. She's such a sweetheart and I love her 
The flowers in the birdcage were originally supposed to just be regular flowers but I last second decided to give it a more mystical and magical feeling and some gold lighting was all it took
And again, I love doing my characters in different styles and if you've ever heard of the series xxxHolic, that partially inspired this piece because of how elaborate their designs are. And I think Angelina looks cute in a kimono 
I'd really love to know what you guys think and if I should make a similar one but with Nicolette instead
Also I added a little something in the background. Can you guys see what it is?

I don't know why but I really like how you drew Angelina here.
I just feel attracted to this drawing, I'm getting like a Midas Touch story that what she touches turn to gold. But maybe in a metaphor that gives a meaning somehow.

The picture is beautiful! Angelina looks very pretty and elegant, I like the way she is winking at the viewer : - ) And it is always great to see the characters of your comic in such vibrant colours! I really like your colouring, the golden shine of the hair looks fantastic and the whole picture definitely has some magical atmosphere about it. Flowers in the cage look interesting and mysterious. And the constellation on the background is a nice touch : - ) I like Zodiac as well : - )

The coloured lines definitely work here. It gives the picture a more soft and natural look. I'd usually do coloured linework too, but the problem is, I always forget to do it, because it's such a minor part of a drawing. XD

Well I was partially inspired by the flower challenge you told me about. I didn't know what to put in the cage but then that idea came to me and boom. This is what we've got lol

Lol! Yeah, it would be pretty easy to overlook, especially when you're focusing on so many other details.
If you use Paint Tools Sai, all you have to do on the line work layer is press "Preserve opacity" and then you can color over your black lines with what ever color you want!

For sure. Black lines can be a bit hard. Sometimes you can use them intentionally to make something look dark or have a contrast but especially when you have a background it is better to colour the lines.
Well that's also a way. I just put another layer over my lineart and put it into 'clipping group', so I still have my black lineart.
I did this with the Art Trade I once made for you. I just keep forgetting it. It's such a small part of the whole progress. When you spent so many hours doing the colouring and then you're finally done with filling all spaces then you have the feeling that everything is done already...at least that's what happens to me.

Weeeell, my walls are kinda full already.
See there's this one little girl at dance and every week she'll give me a drawing and I'll give her one so that's been filling up my walls a lot. Plus I just tend to hang up all the art people gift to me. Same with birthday cards and stuff too 
That's great though! Filling up your walls with pictures and memories always makes things feel more comfortable!

Yeah they really can be. But like you said, depending on what you're trying to do, it can work out better. But if the drawing isn't really dark, it can look a little weird. Like, too much contrast. Oh my gosh that's so simple! Damn, I wish I thought of that!

Yeah I could see how that would happen. Plus, real life interrupts too so you have that to deal with as well. When all is said and done, it can be really easy to forget.
Luckily it's something easy to fix as long as you still have all your layers and everything

I get that. My niece gives me pictures sometimes too. I keep them in a folder, because I hate throwing stuff like that away. Especially because I remember that as a kid I was really disappointed when my drawing didn't get any appreciation and people would throw them away...
And I still have some musical posters lying around but I still have to buy frames for those. One in particular is really huge. I have no idea which shop would offer frames big enough for that.
Don't worry, I never thought of that too. I always thought in order to have you lineart have multiple colours you need to draw it like this, and then one day I suddenly thought of that clipping group thing. >-<'
Ah surely. But I hate when I have to fix stuff and I'm always to lazy to do it.
I keep my layers save. I don't merge any of my colour layers and if I have to (because SAI won't let me make more layers) then only with a bad feeling. In the past it happened so often that I regretted merging layers...

yes it totally does! Its super satisfying, especally with super detailed stuff like backgrounds, remove the colour for a bit after colouring the lines, it looks rad.
