The sandstorm started to get worse, he knew what was coming. He faced it before. When the huge beast exploded out of the sand, it looked him right in the eyes. Time, seemed to stop. They were frozen in time for a split second. He thought back, back to his younger years. This is nothing, he thought. I can do this. I'm not going to give up. They are counting on me.

Here is Pango, the royal guard of the Avians. Protecting them at all costs. This is my contestentry for =kilara 's contest. I'm very very pleased on how this piece turned out. I was trying different things in this piece. I wanted to create a feeling of movement and I tried to make the piece light yet dark. I wanted to see if I could work with lighter colors for a brighter atmosphere. I think it worked quite well. And I really had a blast coloring Pango and the beast. The beast was inspired by piranhas. I don't know if anybody notices it, but I changed the face of the beast quite drastic, I wasn't satisfied with the other one. Here's the line-art [link] . Hope you like it as much as I do!!

Tools I've used - 2b mechanical pencil on A4 then colored it in Adobe CS2 with my Wacom.
