Whew. This took a while. The thing about my stupid doodlez is that they are not actually doodlez. I use up an agonizing amount of effort on them trying to make them look like I just scribbled them out. Wah.Anyway, just to let you know, I'll probably be on a Twilight kick for a while, especially as we start to usher in the Year of Stephenie Meyer (The Host, Breaking Dawn, Twilight movie). I am uber-excited for her. Let me take a moment to give her a cyber-hug.
Okay:
1.) So, this comes from the infamous make-out scene in Ch. 23, "Monster." For one brief, never-ending second, an entirely different path expanded behind the lids of my tear-wet eyes... For the tiniest fragment of that second, I saw bobbing heads of two small, black-haired children, running away from me into the familiar forest... Sorry, but it's the best thing ever. Ahem. Anyway. Poor Edward. Constantly being tormented by Jacob's pervy thoughts. Eclipse was basically just a 600-page insult to Edward's manhood, wasn't it? XD
2.) Ha! Okay, this just cracks me up. This comes from... well, I can't quote it, but at one point, Edward buys a motorcycle. Not only that, but he totally mellows out at the end of the book. Jacob, much?
3.) Um. Why is everyone in this book a control freak? Edward is totally crazy at the beginning, and then later, Bella won't let Edward or Jacob do anything because they might hurt themselves. She's always begging them to stay with her. CRAAAAZY.
4.) AKA "Reason #17 Why Jacob Is Love." I LOVE CHARLIE. Holy crap. And he hates Edward. I swear, it's all so hilarious. *The jar joke is totally from Susan Kay's Phantom. I don't know if she got it from anywhere, but I've always thought it was bloody brilliant!
The scanner kind of killed some of these, but whatever.
Dunno if I'll do more. I can't think of any more obvious jokes. So if you have a scene that you loved that I haven't done, y'know, tell me. Because I'm running out of ideas.

Oh, you bet. xD
My friend was rambling on about it all day like some bumbling idiot... -_-...
Have you read Stephenie's new book, The Host? In my opinion, it's wonderful... even though it's a bit slow around the middle, or I just enjoy the more climatic parts. If you have, how would you compare it to the Twilight saga...?

I am currently on page 172 of The Host, so I can't give you my full opinion yet. But I'm loving it so far. <3

Do tell me when you finish.
My friend spends like, all her time in the library (despite being told she's a dork... by me of course... but who am I to talk?)...
and in like, the middle of the night, she'll call me and start discussing plots...

Amazing. It didn't leave me feeling warm and fuzzy all the way through like Twilight, but there were definitely lots of warm and fuzzy moments. And it was all just so AWESOME. Ian! IAN IAN IAN!!!!!

Well, I just thought it was so cute how Edward bought a motorcycle about halfway through the book, like he thought THAT might be why Bella liked Jacob. It was beyond adorable. And the third one was just about how Bella didn't want Edward or Jacob fighting Victoria, no matter how much they told her that it would be fine...
Thank you so much! I love your avvie, too!

~And the third one was just about how Bella didn't want Edward or Jacob fighting Victoria, no matter how much they told her that it would be fine
-Yeah, funny how she wants the best of both worlds. I thought the comment about the magnets being the two sides of her consciousness, not representing Edward and Jacob working together was cute/clever.
~like he thought THAT might be why Bella liked Jacob
What does a motocycle offer over running through the forest at several hundred miles an hour? It's funny how often Bella reassures Edward, yet he still feels intimidated by Jacob . The people at the local automobile dealership must know Edward by name by now
. I mean how many vehicles has he bought in the span of three books? Like two or three at least?
~Thank you so much! I love your avvie, too!
Welcomes

Stalker's back!!! @@
I absolutely ADORE this one - it cracks me up. I was literally roflmao when i saw this. The first one is so totally Jake - he's so cute and puppy like! I can just SEE him wagging his tail when ever Bella compliments him. Poor Edward. Being inside Jake's head must be awful for him . . . *snickers*
It's true that Edward was trying to be a bit like Jake with the whole motorbike thing, but I'm really glad that Stephanie made him sort of realise that the bikes were a jake thing. and plus, Edward can't seem to get into his THICK but adorably GORGEOUS skull that spending extravagant amounts of money makes poor Bella uncomfortable. Hehe, i love the way you portray them all - it's so cute@
Bella was a bit crazy protective in Eclipse, wasn't she? I mean, i thought EDWARD was bad when he had Alice kidnap poor Bella. Though it turns out it was a bloody good job she convinced Edward to stay with her in the battle. I love the look on Edward's face. *giggle*
And the last one is ABSOLUTE LOVE! It's so true. I mean, after Bella broke her knuckle on Jake's jaw, Charlie's just like "Good on ya." but Edward so much as LOOKS at Bella it's like bring out the torch and pitchfork! Charlie looks perfect!
Ok. My novel's over now. I'm gonna go . . .stalk someone else for a while, before i start to scare you. XP

Skyraptor66 [2008-02-09 16:30:47 +0000 UTC]
These are hilarious, but what really cracks me up is that your sense of humor brings out many of the unintentional flaws in the Twilight series. I'm not a hater (my sister loves the books), but they're best served as mild entertainment to make funny inside jokes about with your friends. My favorite doodles are the first and last: the first because I never thought of that (and it's probably why Edward hates Jacob even more) and the last because, as funny as it is, I highly doubt anyone in the books would get away with saying that to Edward, and poor neglected Charlie now owns pretty boy's balls.
Hooray for neglected secondary characters!
P.S. I read a short rant by Meyer herself on the Twilight Lexicon about "beauty" of sex, which somehow reminded me of the somewhat creepy opinions of Ayn Rand (who also featured a quasi-rape scene in her novel). Something tells me that she probably wouldn't know whether to laugh or be ticked off by some of these comics. Not that you should be worried.

Oh, plz, Miss Meyer, it's all in good fun! See, one of the reasons I loved Twilight was just BECAUSE she didn't feel the need to put sex in them. I mean, it's gotten to where you can't FIND a YA book that doesn't have anything dirty in it, and that usually makes me a little uncomfortable. So I know I can sort of totally embrace these books because they're not going to get weird--they're just fluffy pure romance. So I was TOTALLY shocked that it was such a major issue in Eclipse. "Confessions" was so uncomfortable. Even though nothing happened, I thought Stephenie might compromise herself. And I didn't want that to happen.
But about the unintentional flaws: really, I know there are problems with the books. Like how the Seattle plot was agonizingly slow in Eclipse, or how the characters always seem to be changing their minds. But I love these books. I think they would be PERFECT if she just made them completely character-oriented, instead of adding melodramatic plots. But I also love the melodramatic plots, even if the details are often swallowed up in the emotional drama of Bella. I DON'T CARE. No book is perfect, and I think Stephenie has crafted a beautiful thing. But... sometimes the characters are just begging to be made fun of.

You sound like my sister; sex stuff makes her uncomfortable too. In fact, before Eclipse came out, I was pestering her about how I was sure there was going to be some sort of sex scene later on in the series. Sure enough, the minute she read "Confessions" she ran into my room, threw the book under my nose and screamed "You've corrupted her! I don't know how you did it, but you've CORRUPTED HER!" "Confessions" was actually pansier than I would have made it. (Books you should never read, but I enjoy: Lolita, Naked Lunch, Ulysses, and any Stephen King book.) Judging by how passionate Meyer sounded in her "My Opinion on Sex" rant, you can count on feeling more uncomfortable when you read the fourth book, although I'm willing to bet the censors will make her cut out most of the dirtier stuff.
Meh, as I've mentioned, I don't like the books, but I don't HATE them either. I think Bella's plastic, that Edward would have done better as a pin-up on a college freshman's wall, that Meyer should ease up on taking the drama so seriously, and that poor Jacob should move on and find himself a nice girl somewhere (who isn't Bella). The reason why I'm here is because (A.) my sister showed me this, and (B.) I have two versions of Twilight and its characters: the literal creations as written by Meyer, and the ones that my sister and I make up stupid stories and laugh about. The ones I love are the latter, although we talk more about the minor characters (Jasper, Alice, and Carlisle) than the main ones.
Regardless of what I think; to each his own.

Yeah, though somehow or another, I could see that Meyer didn't want to delve too deeply into the details (dirty bits), and so I was really curious how she was going to work it out .

Well, Meyer is very adamant about not writing gratuitous sex scenes in her books. I'm expecting her to allude to it in Breaking Dawn, but I doubt she'll actually show us the wedding night. Not much of it, anyway. I don't MIND, I just don't want Twilight to go down that road.
Bella started to infuriate me in New Moon, but Meyer is so into her characters, she can defend all their actions brilliantly. I think that the problem a lot of people have is that they come to the series after it exploded in popularity and then... sometimes they just have ridiculously high expectations. The books are entertaining, and I think they are quite well-written and have pretty good characters. Bella was NOT plastic in Twilight, so I'm hoping she might sort of... regain herself in the last book.
Twilight is definitely the best, though. Since then, Bella has become entirely to cling-y to Edward.
