The detail here is incredible - the muscles so beautifully sculpted. there's a real sense of raw power

Thanks man! Really appreciate it. btw I bought a wax pen and 4 different types of wax to try out. I'm looking forward to getting it. I may transfer the ferrigno hulk head into wax..maybe...

i was on the fence about wax for a while but its real great stuff mate. i am still a nob in wax but it solves many issues for me.

I feel some anxiety while working on small detail with super sculpey haha...especially the face, bc if you make a wrong move all your work is screwed! I think things like hair and eyelids would be so much easier with wax too, but we'll see...but if I do transfer it to wax, then I've got to buy silicon to make the mold...damn, so much stuff to get!

well actually mate , stuff like that is cheaper in the US. in particular, Sil-putty which is as it sounds; a silicone putty . comes in 2 parts usually blue and white. mixed equally you have about 5 mins to mold up. for a head i was recommended to start by putting small balls of it on the eyes ,ears ect before mixing up alot to cover the rest of the head/neck.
in your neck o the woods, its made by Smooth On. supposedly widely available at Craftstores too. hope that helps. there's no complex molding involved mate.... or i couldnt do it! lmao!

I actually ordered silputty just last night after reading some articles,...It took me forever to find those articles... but I didn't know about the eyes/ears part. Makes sense though! Thanks buddy!...But I've heard a lot about after pouring the wax in the mold and the wax copy dries about 4% or more smaller than the original clay sculpt...I'm kinda worried about that..

hey you're welcome mate, knowlegde is free i think, and 4% is really nothing when you see the clay and wax side by side. plus you can build up the head again in wax or sculpt at 5% larger than needed if you are going to wax. personally i dont worry about such things and if something comes out slimmer like a leg say, then it often looks real nice!

I guess you're right, I just want to stay within the 1/4 scale range on this hulk. I don't think I'll have to put much added detail on this head bc it seems ferrigno's make-up was so thick that it covered a lot of detail, but it will still be nice to refine some things without being worried about screwing something else up. I guess the real test will be on my clint eastwood. That will be a lot of fun.
