Description Kits are available for purchase and the storyline for the character is over www.badpressstudio.com/spatha (if you care about either one) Anyway, I'm finally finished with this one. It's primed and ready for paint, although I'm not sure if I want to paint it because I may want to try to make some resin castes of it and the paint probably won't make it through that process. Anyway, the 411...It's a 17 inch sculpture (1/6 scale) The character is supposed to be around 11ft tall with nearly limitless strength and can make spikes come out of any location of his body...well..maybe there's a few places he'd prefer not to have them come out. I made this guy up around 1993 and I thought I'd bring him to life in the form of a sculpture.

great work, is also comforting to know that other people keep designs and concepts that long before using them too.

I used a type of polymer clay called "super sculpey" it only hardens when baked. You can buy it at nearly any craft store or even online. Thanks for checkin' it out!

sup3rs3d3d In reply to Vertigo-zero [2010-05-20 16:50:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've heard that once before. I had never heard of him until about a week or 2 ago, but I made this character up in 1993...Todd McFarlane made Necrid up in 2003. I've got him beat by 10 years lol.

Vertigo-zero In reply to sup3rs3d3d [2010-05-21 08:21:50 +0000 UTC]

Haha I wasn't accusing Just saying. If you have proof, maybe you can sue him (I hate him for not bringing Necrid to the later games anyway )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sup3rs3d3d In reply to Vertigo-zero [2010-05-22 21:16:11 +0000 UTC]

lol...I understand..just trying to explain the timeline. I'm not worried about suing him or anyone else..I mean, a big guy with spikes isn't completely novel anyway. It is odd how the pattern of the spikes is similar though...oh well, I must have done something right, if he's thinking along the same lines as myself.

you've got skill and imagination in equal quantity there...jealous,me??...more than a bit. If you get a decent mould of it ya gotta do at least one bronze. outastanding!!!

sup3rs3d3d In reply to superiorste [2010-05-20 16:44:12 +0000 UTC]

Nah, just research and a lot of comicbooks lol...though I really appreciate the kind words! I'd like to do one in bronze, but it's $$$$ ultra expensive.

superiorste In reply to sup3rs3d3d [2010-05-25 16:03:15 +0000 UTC]

just buy a load of small cheap crap bronze stuff on ebay for 99p then have it all melted down!lol Alternatively have em made to order, buyer pays! make a run of ten bronze only and mark the price accordingly. I can't see you having much trouble with that level of quality if you get it seen by the right people. That's what people with a lot less skill than you have do.

You can always paint his brawny spikey ass at any time. you never know whats in store , So I would at least make A master mold from him first; You already had the thought to do it so maybe it's A good idea.

Why the hell do i have the feeling he got a SKULL or a Head in his hand?

well its awesome piece of work, i really love the loincloth, theplate on it looks aweosme. i also really like the spikes on his shoulders. it really looks godlike also the way how you bould his muscles looks great i really dont want to piss him of ^^ (and is this a chin beard or are these spikes too?)

sup3rs3d3d In reply to Riokan [2010-05-20 09:24:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! No, it's one of those "power poses". I was going to add a bunch of spikes on the left side, but I just didn't think it would do the sculpt justice. He's supposed to be flexing and summoning spikes to protrude from his skin.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Riokan In reply to sup3rs3d3d [2010-05-20 09:34:42 +0000 UTC]

aaah i see cool,cool

but this type of pose acually means when it come to power that he got some skill that has to do with energy i think like psy or electricity power

with this kind of ability (spikes) i would have gave him a mor showoff power pose, like holding his arm in front og him, his hand at the heigh of his head and slightly more closed like if he forms a claw with it, and spikes coming out of the forarm and the hand

but thats only my opinion you still made it awesome ^^
