Description
Finished my animation reel for 2009!Contains a combination of animation tests in both 3D and 2D, as well as some commercial Flash work near the end.
Music is "Entering the Stronghold" by Danman 87, free for non-commercial use from Newgrounds.com .
Update: Based upon some feedback, did another version with more upbeat music, which you can view over on my blog

Wow, now that is incredible dude. I see you seemed to have tweak the brushing hand motion like you said you might. In particular your 2-d animation, with the wolf movie & mouth test, animation really show your as talented with the this as your 3-d animation. I true testament of your skills.

It's from "The Birdcage." Naked Guy's voice is Nathan Lane, same voice for Timon from The Lion King. Chibi Jaz's is Robin Williams.

I liked the quality of the animatiomns put into the reel in this one Dave, but im gonna be honest, i liked the format of your previous demo reel a little better. It was very uplifting, very punchy, this ones a little more evenly paced but the music didn't feel right, except in one location with the "sneaking" guy, that was magic in motion. But your animation is a very cheerful bouncy cartoon style and i dont feel that was represented in the audio score for this one :\

One of the hardest thing with 3D animation is to get a natural movment of the character. I think you have manage that very nicly!

Everything looks great, although I do have ONE thing to nitpick. Around the 15 second mark, the idle animation on the character looks a little too video game-y. If I recall correctly, they exaggerate idle animations in games because most of the time, the camera is pulled out so far that you wouldn't notice them otherwise. But in film animation it looks a bit silly.
I should also mention that the (I'm guessing) 11-Second Club bit with the Max rig and the 2D character around the 35 second mark looks great.

What an awesome animation reel, really professional stuff. It just show's how far you can go with your animation skills to potential clients (love the variety of styles - especially how you compiled both 2D & 3D elements of the Naked Guy & Chibi Jaz).
The voice acting is fantastic, the audio quality is great - what mic did you use??
Also I did not expect Jaz to sound like that! XD

The scenes from Begone, Little Wolf was drawn on paper, while everything else was traditionally drawn in Flash
