I freaking geeked out when I saw that this was posted on the official Mass Effect Facebook page. I was even more happy when they refused to tear it down

I actually am basing a cosplay around this image.
I'd also seriously consider a similar commission for a tattoo friendly version of this

What Facebook page?

The BioWare official fanpage. Back in 2012 when Mass Effect 3 fanart started to flood dA, the dev team would post featured fanart during the week, usually on a Thursday or Friday.

Wait this caused an Internet Riot?
Well, I'll be getting this guy back for this. MLP is not invincible on the Internet contrary to popular belief.

Yes, a semi-big Internet riot in the Bioware fan community. When this picture graced BioWare's official fanpage, it sparked lots of outrage. MLP was just starting to become a thing then, and people could not fathom it being crossed over with their beloved hard-as-nails sci-fi series. People started boycotting BioWare, even going to the store that same day and selling back their copies of the game.
The best part is, BioWare stood by their decision. They thought it was a cool piece, and told the community in a nice way that they didn't have to go dislike an entire company "just because they posted a pink pony that likes to party in N7 armor". People were still mad for a bit after, but it was a big laugh because it was BioWare who officially shared this on their page.

I just want you to know that I love this. So much! And if BioWare made an MLP-themed set of armor and weapons, I'd probably not only forgive them for ME3's ending, I'd buy every piece of DLC without a word of complaint. Rainbow Dash armor that increases speed with a laser rifle that fires a different color every second, biotic-enhancing Twilight Sparkle armor with a high-powered pistolβ¦

This Terrifies Me. The Rainbow Laser sounds pretty awesome though...
Not a Brony, and a Die-Hard fan of Mass Effect, so this kinda hurt me somehow. Sorry...
To each his/her own as they say.

Still Scary.
What if Joker actually found the MLP fanbase while trolling the Extranet?
Though Realistically nobody on the Normandy would be a brony...
'Cept maybe Jacob... or Kenneth...
I can almost see Shepard flipping out about this

HaroldPotter In reply to Sutori-Artifex [2013-09-09 22:30:27 +0000 UTC]
I can make it better. What if Wrex was a brony?
"I learned all about friendship from your old Earth cartoons, Shepard."
"Oh? And what did you learn?"
"That it's magic." *Wrex pulls out a tiny antique Fluttershy and begins to brush her hair*
"β¦"
"What?"

Sutori-Artifex In reply to HaroldPotter [2013-09-09 22:42:55 +0000 UTC]
No. Stop Trying. Just... Jesus Christ no...
Wrex would NEVER. Do such a thing. Ever.Β
If he did, he wouldn't be King of Tuchanka, would he now?
Krogan can get beaten up or killed for mentioning the magical properties of Friendship. Plus I would lose all faith in the Krogan's future as a species if I saw Wrex with a Pony toy. Period.
Excuse me for being so condescending, but that was the final straw.

HaroldPotter In reply to Sutori-Artifex [2013-09-09 23:16:54 +0000 UTC]
Actually, Wrex might find something in common with the show. He probably wouldn't LIKE it, but the extremes that the characters go through for each other and their friendship is similar to the Krogan krannt, your battle mates with whom you must inspire loyalty and in turn they must inspire loyalty in you. It's not the exact same thing, but he would at least find something to appreciate. Before wondering why they don't just crush Trixie with a mountain.
Also, Wrex was comparatively a softy compared to a lot of Krogan, don't forget that. Cooperation, planning ahead, growing plants instead of building weapons⦠He was pretty mellow, all things considered, and that's what made him so effective in the long run.
PS: this is how my brain works all the time. It didn't even take much effort to come up with this stuff. Like, a minute's worth of thought.

Sutori-Artifex In reply to HaroldPotter [2013-09-10 00:37:40 +0000 UTC]
You offer a Valid point, but I refuse to believe his mellowness is the result of Bronyism.
And if MLP is all you see everywhere you go...

Finally you are putting 2 and 2 together rather than saying 1+1=Fish.
He's one of the last Battlemasters (Vanguards), and he definitely seems to have a good bushido laid out for him.Β
I'd say he meditates at least once or twice a week. The result of which is Tuesday Maintenance. (You'd get that joke if you played World of Warcraft. Whenever they schedule Maintenance to the game/site they always land on Tuesday... Something messed something up.)

HaroldPotter In reply to Sutori-Artifex [2013-09-10 02:22:56 +0000 UTC]
And now I'm imagining Wrex meditating or doing some Krogan equivalent of zen therapy to find inner peace. "In that moment, I am both hammer and myself. Weapon and wielder. I am one."
Oh, heaven's no. Only when I'm being silly. XD

Awesome drawing of a great tv series and a great game.
I read comments about the Bioware's facebook post. Some people needs more humour sense! If instead of Pinkie, Sheppard had been a Teletubbie or David Hasselhoff, I would have laughed as well.

Because, when on the internet, when you see someone with an opinion different from yours, you HAVE to tell them that they're wrong. At least that's what it seems like, unfortunately.

Kimmuryiel In reply to Terra1ord [2012-08-15 21:21:59 +0000 UTC]
well, people seem to think that if your opinion is different from their's, it must be wrong. It's like what percent of a tip you should leave, one of those stupid little things you'd think people would just let bygones be bygones with, but, no, it starts a huge debate
