I'm sure I'm not the only person who made this comparison. Cute animals that can undertake a temporary transformation to become more powerful but still change back? Ha! Nice try!Although joking aside, I'm curious to see how the Mega Evolutions play out in battle. Many of the designs look pretty dang cool !
...And on a side note, a Digimon vs. Poke'mon game. I can still dream!

Yeah, and don't make it so we have to choose between one or the other like a Pokemon vs. Digimon fighting game or something. No. I got a better idea. Try combining your basic Pokemon game...with Digimon World 3. Let us pick a starter Pokemon with a starter Digimon (or Digimon pack), let us carry up to 6 pokemon ALONG WITH 3 digimon for a party. Have a specific Dex for both pokemon and digimon (like the one in Dawn/Dusk), allow us to obtain Pokemon the same way as usual but obtain new digimon as well (ALSO like in Dawn/Dusk), battle pokemon trainers and digimon tamers alike, have specific gyms for both pokemon and digimon battles (and before anyone asks there ARE gym battles in Digimon World 3), and to top it all off, (again, like Dawn and Dusk), have the story of the two games be parallel to each other and let the canon protag of each version be one male and one female and have them rival each other. AND FOR FUCKS SAKE, PUT FUCKING GENNAI IN THE FUCKING GAME!!!

Well true but at the same time digimon has fusion transformations and digimon has there ultimate forms like shoutmon's champion form, and only rarely few pokemon can mega evolve while most or all digimoon can do so, like i said most shows copy from each other and change it up to smokescreen it.
Just like Yu-gi-oh there where certain shows that took idea's or simulated the concept of the show teens and adults know so but not children or young teens, they don't question it but enjoy it because they like it even if they know or not it's fabricated.
Pokemon copy most parts from digimon and yet people know this yet they like Pokemon better, higher standards of websites, movies, shows, products, games, etc.

Nice speech (not sarcasm). But let me tell you something. FYI Digimon is the one who copying first. They copy the evolution, they copy the title, and the fact all digimon lay eggs and have partner/trainer. They know about pokemon yet they still released it anyway without knowing the consequence of being accused rip-off. So if Pokemon copying Digimon now, I won't be to surprised cause its probably a PAYBACK. Pokemon was in this situation before. If you play Pokemon GSC, the city where player lives called New Bark City was to be called Silent Hill in early concept because the city based on Shizuoka city and Shizuoka means Silent Hill. But 6 months before the game released, a Horror genre game of the same name (Silent Hill) released so they change it because they don't want to be accused rip-off the name or maybe they don't want to be compared to a horror games. But the most vital think is title. I heard from some people that Pokemon ripped off Shin Megami Tensei and nobody give a damn about it. You know why? Because its title is different. That is one of the most vital point for a games or any art for that matter, cause title represent their identity. SMT also has different atmoshpere. Its dark, bloody, and demonic. Not to suitable for kids and they don't use the term evolution like Pokemon do. People will recognize the similarities between two series from the title first and then from its content. The term that used in both Digimon and Pokemon for them to transform is the same. My advice to Digimon (though its too late now):
"if you don't want to be accused a rip-off, change the title and change some term that similar to Pokemon like evolution. Don't pout if you turn out to be the one that came with the idea of the naming and the term first. Change doesn't always hurt. You got two years after Pokemon released. You must know about its popularities if you live in Japan or in USA. If you don't want to be compared to other big franchises, you should change the title into less similar with your rival to create your own identity that differ from the other. And then change the term "evolution" into something else. Naming and terms may sound trivial but this is actually can be vital point to strategize your franchise distribution."

Well im just saying people get there idea's (Not all) get there idea's from other types of shows or franchises, my friend is the one who told me that Pokemon is a Digimon is similar to each other or as he says a rip off. Among the issues with it would power differences between most pokemon and digimon of the perfect(ultimate) and ultimate(mega) level, from what I can gather only the likes of legendaries would probably be able to contest a fight against them.
