I'm sure I'm not the only person who made this comparison. Cute animals that can undertake a temporary transformation to become more powerful but still change back? Ha! Nice try!Although joking aside, I'm curious to see how the Mega Evolutions play out in battle. Many of the designs look pretty dang cool !
...And on a side note, a Digimon vs. Poke'mon game. I can still dream!

Actually I think its a good way to get some of the older pokemon out and in the spotlight again. It makes people who grew up with them happy and lets newer fansΒ possibly use them for the first time.Β Also with all the new pokemon some of the older ones just don't stake up anymore. This is a way to fix that and make it so they can still evolve the game while keeping some of the older pokemon still in use.

Just as Sonic wishes to be as succesful as Mario and honestly you can not blame them. Sell numbrs however do not always reflect quality. A great example is Okami which was quite the financial failure but its still a Master piece.

Though they are really alike. Both use a device to finish the evolution, both happen in the battle, both need strong friendship with the trainer/tamer and in both after the battle they go back to the normal state.

Digimon don't need a Digivice to digivolve and it doesn't always happen in battle, nor do they need a strong friendship with a DigiDestined partner/tamer to digivolve (since not all Digimon even have a partner or tamer) and they don't always go back to their previous digivolution. Gatomon is a good example. She digivolved without Kari and when she digivolves into Angewomon, she doesn't go back to her Rookie level, she goes back to her Champion level.

So really, Mega Evolution is nothing like Digimon. It seems like most people who keep saying that don't know much about Digimon or aren't even fans of it. Yeahyeah I understand that. But Tailmon is a different story. Because her normal level isn't Child, it's Adult. But what I meant that partnered Digimons can't keep their level high for a long time. Also partnered Digimons need to be in contact with a digivice to evolve higher. From Baby I -- Baby II -- Child -- Adult the friendship meter doesn't need to be very high, but when it comes to stronger levels Perfect and Ultimate they need to have special bond with their tamers to make it work.
You didn't sound mean at all! Myself I think that Mega Evolution and Evolution with Partnered Digimon is pretty much the same, but Mega Evolution and normal 'wild' evolution in Digimon are different.

Digimon are six Digivolution levels:
1. Baby
2. In-Training (Baby II in Japan)
3. Rookie (Child in Japan)
4. Champion (Adult in Japan)
5. Ultimate (Perfect in Japan)
6. Mega (Ultimate in Japan)
