Quite surprised I did this, so soon after finishing the little chibi-fox 4000 celebration.

I liked the drawing a lot, considering a did spend a good hour drawing him, but I didn't feel up to putting him into some background setting that would take a further few hours (lazy I be).

So I started sifting through my folders, looking for something maybe I'd put aside and forgotten to finish.

Then I found this.

Last year I'd discovered the merry "cheating" art of Photoshop CS2, capable of creating textures like grass that I merrily played with. One of the drawings I did but never finished was a sort of "Swamp Afternoon" setting.

Curious, I put the little character into the drawing, and suddenly found a perfect setting. Perhaps not absolute perfect, but it fit his mood. So, I tweaked the environment to include him, threw in some shadows....

And voila.

Dave the fox is triumphantly leaping through a swamp setting...for some reason. Perhaps from a victory, perhaps just happy to be there.

Either way, it feels good
