Description
I've had this idea stuck in my head for a while now, and just now got around to making it xDI had to go back to Cinema 4D for this since Blender doesn't have Volumetric Lighting yet. (Volumetric lighting in short, is the sun beams you see coming through the door.)
Programs Used: Cinema 4D R15 with the Physical Renderer
JMC2OBJ for exporting the world
What do you guys think of this? xD
(Don't complain about the crops looking like that, they don't play nice with Cinema 4D's Depth Of Field. xD)

Physically, the only reason you can see the light, is because there is dust there ; )
The light has to have something to bounce off of (in this case fine dust particles) for light to be visible.

i'd imagine some would still stick out (especially against a window like that) but the way you did it looks great

I might end up making one xD
This was actually pretty easy to make. I just exported the village, brought in my edited physical sky, added a spotlight with volumetric lighting for the sunbeams, turned on the depth of field and rendered it out xD

Well I know how to make renders but how did you put the the light setting to volumetric lighting?

Under the general category of your light, there should be a drop down menu labeled "Visible Light" change that to Volumetric, and the light it emits should be visible like in this photo. To tweak the volumetric effect, go to the visibility tab of the light, and play with the Inner and Outer Distance settings.
Keep in mind though, volumetrics does not work on area lights, infinite lights or sun lights. Only point, spot, and target lights.
I'm not sure what version of Cinema 4D your using, (I'm on R15 Studio) but this should work for at least a few versions back.

of course if i lived in the world of minecraft, id install a few mods, build a giant spaceship, arm it with some crazy frakin TNT cannons and fly around blowing $hit up and claim the world as mine... anyone who opposed me would be totally frakin obliterated. my latest builds put this to shame with sheer scale alone, but this one is the largest and most complex i have screenshots of: delta7xx.deviantart.com/art/st…
my personal favorite is the aurora though... it has around 40 times the mass of this ship here, plus dedicated fighter bays and the most advanced ultra long range TNT cannons i can engineer, not to mention tons of random features like a fully functional armory, redstone powered fire charge dispenser arrays, piston blast doors, lava bombing chutes, a TNT hose, tons of rooms, a quick deploy water elevator to load and unload crew and passengers, 4 squadrons of fighters and 2 docking bays for destroyer to cruiser sized ships. it's half a kilometer long and is the single largest build ive created yet. oh, and it's actually pretty good looking for a minecraft spaceship, not to mention highly functional.

woah... i must have been tired when i wrote all that O-o i never write that much unless im exhausted.
i love to build lots of highly destructive stuff in minecraft... the TNT hose is just pure evil... it can make a 30 block wide and 40 block deep hole in the ground within around 15 seconds of continuous firing. it puts a bunker buster to shame.

Ikr
I've had this idea for so long now. I can't believe it took me this long to make it.
