Description
Hi again guys. This robot's taken ages and ages to draw. I started him last Tuesday, and it's almost come around again before he's finished.Bizarrely enough, this is actually the first robot I've drawn facing away from me. I'm really pleased with how it came out though.

Found this while looking around for references on google, I honestly thought this was Geoff Darrow's work! Love this!

I was talking to a friend not to long ago about how a Gatling gun makes anything look 10x better.

um...
What do you want to know? What I do sort of seems fairly automatic to me, but I've been drawing these guys for years. I'll see if I can't try to teach you a few things.

oh god really? lol I was only joking on that part. But, I really wanna know how you got to doing the details, like how you know how to place them and all that... the lines and all that... it's okay though, I kinda sense that its hard to explain ._."

The Details... How I got started was with This Guy [link] . I drew him ages ago, when I was still drawing WH40K Space marines. He later became the blueprint for my robots after I got bored of the Marines. That's the most important stage. Find a working blueprint, then try to apply it to different scenarios.
Once you have a blueprint, add lots of pipes and wires and stuff. they make it look less like unnecessary detail, and more like a proper robot. Give that a try. Link me if you want.

wow.
thanks a whole lot for the advice, I don't know what to say.
It's a pretty good idea, I should really do that to my own robots too I'll link you one day, if I manage to finish any.
thanks again man
