Update: Rainmaker's current legal department have no understanding of fandom, and the rest of the company really needs to keep a better eye on them. My YouTube account has been terminated, and I'm not the only one.
On a more positive note, Shout! Factory accepted my offer! I will be in the credits and I'll get a complimentary DVD set!

Aw, shucks. ^_^ Here's hoping they'll let me keep it up even after the DVDs come out, though I doubt it. Still, since they've been so nice about it so far, I bet they'll at least let me keep any of the extras that they don't have as special features. And I've offered Shout! Factory use of my captions, but they haven't replied yet.

You're welcome, but... it's gone now. They, or at least their legal department, are being a lot less nice to the fans than they used to, and not only are the videos down, my YouTube account has been terminated. I'm not the only one either, and most of the others were only music videos or similar. At least I can understand why they wanted mine gone. One fan's account was terminated due to music videos which Rainmaker had asked her to upload in the first place! So we're all a bit distressed.
On the bright side, Shout! Factory have accepted my offer of captions! Look for me in the credits!

Yeah, I heard about that.
Considering the fans are the sole reason the DVDs are coming out and why ReBoot hasn't been lost through the cracks of time, the new attitude is rather dickish.
And the fact they terminated one they asked themselves to upload...urgh, it's sickening.
I think they're trying to maximise profit with the DVDs coming out. Of all things, there could be a boycott because of how awfully the treatment to the fans have become, but since it's literally only us that are the target audience, we're all caught between a rock and a hard place.
At least it's comforting to know that at least most of the Mainframe/Rainmaker peeps have since left/changed. I doubt the original etc sorts of people would do this 180.
But regardless, HUGE thanks to all the videos and continued effort to bring ReBoot to us all.
We stand and salute you with a single, solemn tear running down a cheek.

Well, like I said, I don't think it's Rainmaker in general that's acting like this; I think it's just the legal department. The rest of the company is probably just clueless, but some of us have e-mailed them in hopes of rectifying that.
