Okay! Crazy Digimon headcannon time!

So, the theory is that the three Celestial Digimon (Ophanimon, Cherubimon, & Seraphimon) are actually the Digimon partners from Digimon Adventure and 02 (Gatomon, Kokomon, & Patamon). That being the case, something must have happened to take Terriermon out of the picture.
Remember that Kokomon had tried to kill Terriermon and Willis in the past due to the influence of an evil computer virus. Perhaps Lucemon was responsible for the virus or perhaps he just took advantage of the weakness! Either way, when Cherubimon was corrupted again he must have killed his brother. That's why he was so insistent that Koichi kill his brother Koji; he knew from experience that it would be the finale step into the darkness.
After Lucemon's evil influence is finally cleansed from the Digital World, Terriermon is finally reborn and the twin digimon are finally reunited in the Village of Beginnings.

I have no doubt that Gummymon (In-training form of Terriermon) would forgive his brother without hesitation. And it would be such a beautiful reversal of the end of the Digimon Movie where Terriermon runs to find his brother's digi-egg! They always find each other again. Reuniting twins! You gotta love how Frontier does that.

If you find this theory ludicrous, that's fine. It is just a headcannon afterall. I just think it's the saddest and sweetest thing all rolled up into one amazing story. I love this show!
