Akuma is the Fifth son of the Demon Lord Mara the King of the Sixth Infernal Heaven and was the leader of the Ten Demons of Punishment.

Akuma as leader of the Demons of Punishment demonstrated a power far superior to that of his brothers. Akuma's power was capable of rivaling against some of the elite demons of Lucifer's army, such as the Seven Capital Demons, The Followers of Chaos, The Demons of Fear, Lucifer's Holy Army among others. This is because Akuma has incredible reserves of energy with which he is capable of performing spells with little effort, however Akuma is an expert in combat without weapons, demonstrating his incredible physical abilities that is why he enjoys and prefers the hand-to-hand fighting. Akuma displays a different behavior than most demons. He is a demon with his own code of honor and who always cares about his own.

Akuma was respected by his brothers except for one, his older brother Morkor who never agreed with Akuma being the leader of the group. In Morkor's words, Akuma was a weak and soft being who did not measure up to be a leader. Morkor would later challenge Akuma to a fight. At the end of the combat Morkor would manage to defeat Akuma and leave him half dead. Morkor would later proclaim himself as the Leader of the Demons of Punishment.

Fortunately Akuma would be rescued by Sara, a Succubus daughter of Lilith, who had been spying on him for a long time. she would heal his wounds and he in gratitude would become her protector and later they would become lovers. they married and would have four children whom he loves with all his soul.

Although Akuma is not as strong as in the past, he is still a powerful demon and is currently known as Akuma Lord of the Rahiramu Mountain.
