I keep wishing that leaf was red to throw another punch into the shot. Of course, that would go against your whole reason for shooting it in the first place. It does make you study the shot real hard to take in all the lovely detail though.

Gorgeous, seasonal and so vibrant.
The leaf found a great hiding place.

Wow, that's bright. Did you punch up the contrast and saturation? Or is this one the fancy picture modes on the 5D?
Nice observation!

yes, i adjusted the contrast and saturation in capture one. i always shoot in raw, so the 5D's picture modes don't affect anything

That's the second time someone's brought up Capture One; is the RAW processor that much different to Adobe RAW or Aperture? I've only just begun shooting in RAW and am currently using Adobe RAW converter. It's a little slow huh?

yeah raw can be rough on your computer. you need the fastest CPU you can afford and lots of memory. i prefer capture one to all of the others i've tried... it just suits my workflow better and produces the best quality files. i've adobe raw (slow and awkward), adobe lightroom beta (this one will be pretty good when it goes final), bibble, and raw shooter premium (good, but got bought out by adobe).

Awesome idea there. The two go great together. I would have changed the composistion a bit so that the line bisects the image symmetrcially, but this still looks good.

I'll be honest. I'm usually a little bias against your work becuase I feel you are a "pro" compared to myself, and many I see here on dA. But that being said, I REALLY like this piece. It's not quite as polished as some of your pieces, and I like that. It's something anyone could have done, but YOU did. That's what makes it a great shot. Follow me?

thanks! i don't consider myself much different from other people here on dA except that maybe i've been around a bit longer. anyway, i'm glad you liked this one

Great piece!
Love the water bubbles on the leaf. Somehow they emphasize the softness of the nature against the roughness of the human made asphalt road...

The texture and the strong yellow colours against the "black" looks fantastic. The leaf with it's waterdroplets is crust on the cake. Fantastic.
