Description
I was feeling a bit jealous because everyone seems to have a Heart in Book Spine photo except for me. So, I got out the necessary materials and made one. Unfortunately, I don't own a red lens filter, so I made do with what was at hand. This is my entry for $chix0r and $spinegrinder 's Anti-Valentines Contest .

This is thoroughly impressive. I love your take on the heart-in-book theme. Isn't it fun using closeup dictionary definitions?
They're so versatile...almost applicable to any subject matter.

Nice spinoff of an idea that quickly became a cliche. Now that's creativity!

Eugh! Spoiled the book didn't you.
I bet verytime you open 'valentine's day' in it a disgusting smell reminds you of this photosession.
I only realised what your idea was after clicking on the link to the search results. And while before that I thought this was simply a sick photo, afterwards I realised that it also has a great idea Cheers!

OMG this is the funniest, funniest thing. I love your sense of humor.
Now get that heart out of the book before you ruin the pages.
I would totally take it and put it in a jar with alcohol or whatever you have to do to preserve it and keep it on a shelf. It makes me want to see you do a whole series, like "heart on my sleeve", "heart in my mouth" (LOLOL!), etc etc.

i did think of the "heart in my mouth" one but the thought nearly made me puke
it's a fresh heart, so i threw it out after i finished shooting. it was grossing me out a bit.

I would totally have done that shot, unless the heart like smelled or something.
Now I need to find a heart and take a photo!

I don't normally comment on your work, because well, it rocks, but I look at every single piece that comes through my devwatch. Always an inspiration.
This shot has been sitting in my devwatch since you posted, at first, I swear I was nauseous when I saw it, but now, it gives me a good chuckle every time I browse by it!

This is brilliant. At first before I read the description, I just thought it was a really interesting image, and then I read, and laughed out loud. It's a great take on the heart in a book spine concept. I really like it a lot!

wow. you can see a lot of the detail on the heart. fat and ridges and all. it's pretty ... disgusting. i'd actually like to see less of it; it takes up so much of the picture. but that's just me. i like how it's plopped on the book though. the tilt to the text makes it more engaging to the viewer since they have to tilt their head to read it.

oh yeah... it was entirely disgusting. i accidentally touched the heart a couple of times and felt a bit grossed out

This is indeed a very interesting concept.
Technically.
a) is this a real heart?
b) how would the red filter help?
Me and all my questions...
I really liked this one Kevin.
My congratulations.
