Description
Here is the first echo fighter idea, the Octolings from Splatoon! They made their playable debut in the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, being the main heroes of that campaign, and even becoming playable after beating it. Their moveset would not be that different, but their ink-related moves would cover you in more ink than the Inkling's move, but the Octoling's moves would use up around a half more ink than the Inkling.

ALTERNATE COSTUMES:

There are unlockable costumes in Octo Expansion, which could be used as alternate costumes, along with their ink being new colors not represented by the Inklings, like the glittery ink used in Splatfests. There are also costumes based on Marina and Pearl gotten from their amiibo, which could also be alts because those 2 played a key role in Octo Expansion's story, and Marina's also an Octoling.

MOVESET:

Neutral-B - Octo Shot: This move is very similar to the Inkling's Splattershot, where the only differences are that the ink comes out slower, but the attack inks you up more.

Side-B - Octobrush: This move is fully original to the Octoling. By repeatedly holding left or right and pressing B, the player will constantly swing the brush side-to-side, which will trap players in the attack. By doing the same attack, but holding left or right and holding B, the move will act similar to the Splat Roller, but the move won't bury you. The Octoling's new forward smash has them raise their Splat Roller when charging up, and then swing it down, which can spike you.

Up-B - Super Jump: Exactly the same as Inkling's Up-B.

Down-B - Burst Bomb: This move is similar to the Inking's Splat Bombs, but the bombs explode upon contact with anything.

Final Smash - Splashdown: In this new Final Smash, the Octoling will jump up and hit the ground, creating a massive ink explosion around them, completely inking anyone up in the process.

VICTORY S/MUSIC/TAUNTS:

The Octoling's entrance involves them jumping off a helicopter, with Marina, Pearl and Cap'n Cuttlefish on, waving at the Octoling as they fly off into the background. All the taunts are the exact same as the Inkling's.

The Octoling's first victory shows them running around and using their Octobrush, and then posing for the camera. The second victory shows the Octoling Super Jumping into the screen, and then striking a pose. The final victory shows the Octoling shoot repeatedly with their Octo Shot, and then looking down at C.Q. Cumber, a character from the Octo Expansion.

REVEAL TRAILER:

The Octoling will be revealed alongside another echo fighter, Dark Meta Knight who is done next. The trailer is also gameplay only. The trailer starts with Inkling Boy and Girl battling on Moray Towers, and then looking to the top as a new challenger joins. The Octoling is then revealed and their tagline reads: "Octoling Joins The Battle!". We then see gameplay and after a little while, the screen fades to black.

PALUTENA'S GUIDANCE:

MARINA: Is this radio on?

PIT/PALUTENA: Wait, who are you?

PEARL: We're Off The Hook, comin' at ya live!

PIT: That doesn't answer my question...

MARINA: Anyways, we're here to help you out so you can learn more about the Octolings!

VIRIDI: So, are they like Inklings or...

MARINA: They are quite similar, but they use more ink with their attacks.

PALUTENA: Pit, you know what I said about the Inklings? Basically just that.
