Description
As a start to my Sandy Cheeks spin-off idea, taking place canonically in 1996, this is Sandy Cheeks' father, a 53 year old squirrel cowboy (56 during the start of The SpongeBob SquarePants pilot episode, "Help Wanted"), born in 1943.

Dusty (voiced by Sam Elliott), is a no-nonsense rancher, cowboy, and loving father to fraternal twins, Sandy and Randy Cheeks. He manages the Cheeks' family worm ranch with his wife, Ginger Cheeks.

He may look tough on the outside, especially with his huge, well-groomed mustache (of which he is very proud of), but he has a definite soft spot for his kids and his wife and will unleash Texas-branded pain if anyone tries to cause harm to his family, though not so much if they only try to harm him.

Dusty is definitely a strict parent, but he manages to instill good values into Sandy and Randy and is largely Sandy's own role model for being proud and Texas tough in her adult life.
