So these guys usually bond with one human, like a pit bull or something. They're fairly intelligent and the ferals are a conservationist's worst nightmare. That size up there is just the average, so they CAN get bigger and will continue to grow if there's enough food and space. They prefer grasslands and deserts. They do not like crowded environments (forests and the like) or cold spaces, though they are found in the everglades.

They can be used for mounts, beasts of burden, guardians, pets, or fighting beasts. It is legal to fight them as long as they are registered beforehand and the fight is supervised at a registered fighting ring. The fight lasts until first blood, after which the loser retreats instinctively or, in extreme cases, is tranquilized. Fights are considered a good way to "rescue" feral individuals, as a successful fighter can rake in the dough.

There is a market for tack for riding.

They exist in a realm that is roughly as advanced as the mid-1800's of our world. Both magic and science are present, and are purdy much the only reason these guys can exist.

Most people don't custom order these guys anymore since they can get one from a breeder for about a tenth of the price.
