this has a good look of patience and serentity. but next time, think of where your light source is comming from. you have a shadow of you taking the photo.

I actually meant to include my shadow in the image. I've been playing around with the juxtaposition of my shadow with different subjects since I stated photographing. My intention with shooting photos with my shadow in them is to explore my [perceived] identity, and trying to make 'self portraits' without photographing my physical appearance. AndrΓ© KertΓ©sz has a photo that may have inspired me in the first place: [link]

And thank you very much. I appreciate your comments a great deal. Cheers,

its a cool angle;
I think it would be cooler if your shadow was more noticable. :]

I'm so glad you like the shadow! That's what made the photo in my mind. I want to find a way in photoshop to bring out the shadow without darkening the photo too much. I think that might be my next project....

simple but interesting, asphalt should be darker to high the contrast

it will be better (imho) with more contrast, without this shadow and otherwise framed

Chris, no offence, but uh this is the most boring photo I have ever seen.

Why do you find it boring?

(This image is almost split now between people who really like it and people who don't or think it needs changes. The people who like it are winning by one.)

It is so blah. Perhaps because it is from the most boring sport in the history of sport. Maybe because nothing, absolutely nothing, is going on. It could even be that you took all that could be exciting, the colors God made us in, out. All I can say is it is blah

I think the print looks a lot better than this scan.

So, when I decided to print it, I couldn't see the shadow from the contact sheet. I think it's a nice feature of the photo, and I like that it's more subtle than in my photos where that has been the focus.

Thanks for telling me you don't like it, Mark. I like hearing that, too.

Yeah, I really need an SLR. There have been so many photographic opportunities lately, and I just haven't had a chance to take advantage of them.

But now that problem is no more. Isn't my haste to reply to comments perfect?

I'm pretty jealous of the N80, I must say. It will be a great camera for you. I'm so glad you got that and everything to go with it. I can't wait for our photo expeditions.
