Special Notes: *G-Force - Randomly induces either Gravity or Magnet Rise across all Pokemon other than itself upon being sent out, altering Defense and Special Defense depending on the effect.

Signature Move: Black Hole
Category: Special
Type: Ghost
Power: 100

"User summons a powerful void to swallow the target, dealing massive damage and stripping them of their current held item."
(Note: Items lost to Block Hole are returned at the end of the battle. Mega Stones and Z-Crystals are immune to this effect)
Battle Specs: Of all of the tanky 'mons we've covered so far, Gravinet is one of the best in the business, sporting extremely high physical and special defense with some high HP to compliment it. While it's Rock/Ghost typing isn't exactly ideal in terms of number of weaknesses (it has quite a few), all that bulk does mean it'll take a few good super-effective hits before crumbling. As for its other stats, it's Attack and Special Attack are at least decently high enough to get by, while its speed is...about what you'd expect for a Rock type.
For its movepool, you've got a lovely blend of your typical Rock-type move-sets (Ancient Power, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Rock Wrecker, Rock Blast, etc) and your typical Psychic-type move-sets (Shadow Ball, Psychic, Omnious Wind, Zen Headbutt, Psyshock, etc.), with a nice topping of some more unusual moves such as Cosmic Power, Meteor Mash, Gyro Ball, Meteor Beam, Flash Cannon, Self-Destruct, Magic Room, Trick Room, and of course, Gravity. And of course, there's its bread-and-butter move, Black Hole, a mighty Ghost-typed move that strips the opponent of their held item for the remainder of the battle. And while Black Hole is its signature, a select few Pokemon also have the potential of learning this move, such as Gardevior and Dusknoir.
But what makes it truly special is it's new ability: G-Force! What better way of demonstrating a mastery over the cosmic force of gravity than by randomly inducing a Gravity effect or a Magnet Rise effect upon being summoned to the field! Aside from the normal effects that these conditions have, G-Force will also augment the defensive stats of those afflicted depending on the condition. The Gravity effect will increase the Defense and Special Defense of those inflicted by one stage, which might seem a little odd...until you realize that, under normal circumstances, Gravity also lowers the afflicted's evasion by two stages, meaning powerful moves like Inferno, Rock Wrecker, Thunder, and Blizzard will have a much higher chance of hitting. The Magnet Rise effect, however, will LOWER the afflicted's defensive stats by one stage. Yes, you're able to avoid certain moves and hazards now, but the cost of lowered defenses is dangerous in its own right.
Gravinet stands as a Pokemon defined by its unique traits; the combo of G-Force and Black Hole can make for dangerous tools when utilized effectively. Among other Rock-types and even among its cosmic brethren like Solrock, Lunatone, and Minior, there truly is no other 'mon quite like it.
Artist's Notes: Well this is quite the change-up from the weird stealth-bomber robot the original was, huh? I've actually had this redesign for quite a while, though I decided to give it another remodeling a few days ago to try and clean up the design a bit. Also the first Rock-type we've seen in the dex for quite a while (mainly because I haven't exactly figured out how to handle the fossils yet), and it kinda fits in with some of the other celestial 'mons like Solrock, Lunatone, and Minior. I know Ghost isn't exactly associated with space stuff like Psychic is, but I still wanted to keep some ties with the original.
Anyways, as always, I hope you guys liked this, and I'll see you all next time for...something else. Take care! ^_^
