Basis: Inspired by Jack-o-Lanterns and the Headless Horseman

Special Notes: *Hollow - A.K.A: Sleepy Hollow, where the legend of the Headless Horseman took place.
**Flame Stoker - Sharply increases Sp. Attack when hit with a Fire-type Move. Negates all Fire-type damage.

Battle Specs: Jackollow is definitely one of the more dangerous normal 'mons of the region, sporting a monstrous Special Attack stat rivaling Chandelure's and very solid Attack and Defense, though the big downside is its low speed and "okay" Special Defense. Its abilities are also very handy, though admittedly somewhat situational, with Harvest granting a potential second berry use and Flame Body for potential burn affliction. It's hidden ability, Flame Stoker, is the real kicker, acting as a suped-up Flash Fire and sharply raising its already-high Special Attack when hit with a Fire move. You do NOT want to be on bad end of a Jackollow when this ability kicks in!

As for its moves, it's a lot more versatile than you'd expect it to be. Of course, it's got some heavy-hitting Grass and Fire moves like Energy Ball, Power Whip, Leaf Storm, Flamethrower, Overheat, and Burn Up, but other moves like Bulldoze, Payback, U-Turn, Shadow Ball, and Wild Charge also line its set. Not to mention it also has Ingrain for some slight recovery and Nasty Plot for boosting its Special Attack sky-high. There's also the matter of its signature move, Wildfire. Similiar to Petal Dance and Outrage, Wildfire is a powerful Fire attack that deals lots of damage over the course of 2-3 turns...at the cost of confusion at the end of it. Unlike those moves, though, Wildfire also has the capability of burning its opponent for potential debilitation. And while it's not technically a signature, it also has access to a move called Afterburn, a Fire-move that, just like Avalanche, doubles in strength if the user was hurt on the same turn. Definitely a handy move for slower Fire-types like Jackollow.

Overall, Jackollow stands as a powerful opponent can deal a LOT of damage very quickly, and it has just enough bulk to maintain its presence on the battlefield despite its low speed. An excellent 'mon fit for the late game should you happen to stumble across a Fire Stone on your travels, and the perfect mood-setter for trail-blazing frights on Halloween night!

Artist's Notes: And just in time for the scariest night of the year, Jackyro is reborn from the ashes of the OG dex and makes his triumphant return with a new name and form! I...LOVE this new design! As one of my favorites from the OG dex, I definitely wanted to bring him back, but I wanted to try and do something "distinct" with the revamped concept, especially since the original design was made pre-Gourgeist. And adding a bit of Headless Horseman inspiration into the mix did just the trick! Definitely one of the big highlights of the new dex for me!
