V4 sounds way too cool as just a acronym for 'volume four'...guess that's just me trying to be different.
Really looking forward to RWBY volume four. I absolutely FREAKED OUT when I found out there was going to be a time skip AND NEW designs were already released! I was slightly disappointed with it being a mere...6-8 months? But still I wasn't expecting anything to big. Maybe a year at least but WHO CARES?!?! We got new designs for team RWBY!
Ya know I was really surprised for how mature Ruby looked in her new design. I know that she went through a lot at this point but she seems physically older. I'm horrible at math but shouldn't she be 16 at this point in the story? I mean I know she spent a semester or so at Beacon, so that adds a couple months...I dunno. Either way I like the new design. It certainly fits more in line with the whole Red Riding Hood aspect of her design with the new white shirt and she's showing a LITTLE bit more skin than I expected at would be around 15-16. I mean with her new stockings or whatever and the cleavage.
Now as for this actual drawing...meh. I think I could've done better. I know volume four comes out in October and I wanted to use warm colors for a background. I wanted to try doing a different style of drawing trees so I drew a forest. The perspective is pretty off and the trees don't look that good. And the yellow leaves end up blending with the sky. Oh man.
Ah well, live and learn I guess. Still, I am fairly happy with it. I do enjoy using warm colors as they're so easy to blend and look so soothing to my eye. Still, any other criticisms are welcome!
