I thought for a while on what I should make `TeaAndZebraStripes for her birthday this year, I was stumped. xD and then I thought how nice it was to receive something in the mail personally from the hands of the artist themselves. So with that thought in mind, I made this :3It's not laminated yet or anything but it can be if she wants. It'll protect it in the long run and you can hang it in the car like I do with mine xD [link]

Quick question: Do you do a preliminary sketch when doing traditional work like this? Because wouldn't it be a problem if you somehow messed up if you did it all freehand?

Oh no, I definitely sketch to iron out any details I might overlooked. Usually I sketch like this first, [link] and then kind of tweak it a bit [link] and after I'm satisfied I'll ink it. (haven't gotten that far, I'm working on it as we speak, these pics were freshly taken xD)
Once it's inked though its the final boss lol... the markers, dun dun dun. No back buttons so I am really careful as to what colors I choose so I often mix and match and test on the side of the drawing first.

You should do a marker tutorial if you ask me. :u What do you prefer personally, markers or colored pencils?
And would you use an Xacto knife for the cutting?
The picture itself is really good I must say though! I'm making a gift for her as well but like the rest of my art it will be late to the party. OTL
