Description
This is the youngest member of the African Elephant herd at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. This little boy, not named yet, was born 3/11/07 to mother Litsemba. Here he is seen trying to lay with Vus'musi a 3 year old male, also born at the park to mother Ndula. As you can see Vus'musi didn't like it and kicked him pretty hard to get him off. Both Litsemba and Ndula came running to make sure their baby boys were alright. Neither of them left their boys alone after that.Related content

They really are, especially when there are babies. The adults are all so interested in the calf, as were the other two youngsters.

Yup, there are two more pregnant elephants (so there were 3) that are due at the end of the year. He really is so cute. He still is trying to figure out how everything works so watching him run and play is just so funny to watch. One time he found this little mound of dirt and he would walk up and down it, over and over. It was so funny how amused he was by something so small.

Baby animals are just too fun to watch. Everything is so new to them. Makes you wish we could get back that innocents of a young child. They are just a riot.

Aww so cute. I love baby elephants, they are so cute and playful. I watched 8 baby elephants at our local zoos throughtout the last 8 years. And 2 new ones are on the way...

Thank you. I love baby elephants too. They are so precious. Wow, 8 babies. That's so many. This will be the third I've watched at the wild animal park. We also have 2 more due this year XD Yay for baby elephants.
He is definitely the center of attention. He does have to share it with the other calf born in September. Yes, he has been with all of the adults. The whole herd is together a lot.
