Description
So, This is a small app that can Texturize your Taskbar (only the bar, not the start menu). I saw how Windowblinds 7 was toting this exact same thing as a major feature, and it got me mad, because i did this app back in 2002 more or less.So i quickly re-created the app, added in tray support, and i may even get start menu support in some time soon.
This comes with 10+ textures that i made in about as many minutes.
This currently only work if your taskbar is set to the bottom, i have to add in detection of taskbar placement next.
This has only been tested in XP, but i suspect that in Vista / 7, in AERO, it would look positively kick ass!

Hey, couple of suggestions.
Can you add the ability to move the image? I have my taskbar at the top of my screen, so it would be cool if the ability to relocate the textures was added. Also, I'm not sure if it does this automatically, but a way to resize the height to fit the taskbar perfectly would be awesome too. If it already does this automatically, disregard. Thanks for making such awesome stuff!

WOW! Dude, thats awesome. great idea. Windowblinds sucks anyways if you have Vista or Seven because both can do almost all the same things thanks to excellent visual styles and freeware apps made by people like you. The only thing Windowblinds has going now for it is the ability to add in animations, which mostly suck anyways.

yeah, i have been debating making animations for windows, but because WB is doing it, i have held back from doing so.

Pretty cool app.
I love how you can just whip up an app in like no time at all.
One suggestion, this may not turn out great but I think it's worth a try.
Try putting the gradient under the taskbar and decreasing the taskbar's opacity so the gradient can be seen without covering the taskbar.
Another suggestion. This should be easy for you. Can you make a program that copies the portion of the wallpaper that the taskbar is above, blur it, put an image of an taskbar on top of it, and put it in the msstyle? So it lookes like this? [link]
Pretty nice to have that effect without WB. They stole your idea so you should get back at them anyway

as per your first suggestion, that is pretty much how this works.
per the second suggestion, i think i can do that also. i will look in to making those apps in a few days, ok?

I could do it myself and everything, but I got school and stuff and I'm already working on Show Desktop.
See, unlike you I don't have the skill to whoop out apps in a couple of minutes.
Anyway, thanks

Y'know considering all your cool tweaks, I'm surprised you haven't done one of the simplest, buts probably most cool things ever.
Do you think you could create a modification, so that you can set a gradient as a desktop background ( not one you make yourself.) one where you pick 2 colours, and it makes it automatically?

i can have you shoose colors, gradiate them, but it will set the colors to a pic, then set the pic to a wallpaper. it wont be like how it is in Linux, then PNGs can be layered on top or what not...
Or mabey i CAN do that... let me see what i can do.

If you did it, you'd probably be able to make a few small bucks with it.

that would be nice, but no one ever pays for apps from me, everyone expects freeware.

Well, perhaps you should try to be seen by big design companies. Who work in your are of programming. And show them your work?
While half the world is in recession. Companies are not looking for Qualifications much, they want people with more personal experience.

because Stardock has a feature like this in WB7, and because i had this done in 2002, i really did not want them claiming that they "Did it First", or that it was "Another Stardock innovation".
Frankly, i thought that no one would like it, so i never released it, never thought of how it would look under Aero...
