Description when i decided to ink this a while ago, i decided to scan the process to show my inking process.... one thing about me, don't expect the normal text book stages, like doing the outline first and then the fine lines and shading and stuff. i start from somewhere (usually the eyes) and then work from there... i actually finish the shadings & renderings in one part before gradually moving to the other parts. this way i won't miss out any of the details.

it's hard to adjust the pencil lines to look darker in photoshop without overwhelming the ink (because my sketches are very very light) so i hope that you can see the sketch lines in here...

so you can see, my inking steps are a bit erratic... luckily i started from the boy in black, so i was able to highlight how i do solid black shadings. i ink those parts with markers, but first the corners and edges has to be filled out so that the outcome would look nice and sharp. as for the other boy, the pattern on his vest was made with plaka white (mural paint) but i forgot to scan the process... so, he was suddenly finished with the patterns. sorry about that.

the lines in the biggest panel there are a bit inconsistent... sigh... clamp senseis please continue to inspire me with you patience and greatness... i still have a long way to go...

okay, i am not very good with words, so i hope the pictures are nough to tell the story. i hope you like it. this only shows the traditional side of the making of this page though. there are a few things to be done via photoshop before this is truly finished.

tools used :
mechanical pencil pentel 2B lead and pentel eraser for sketching and clean-up
pilot DR drawing pen and faber castell ecco pigment (felt-tip) - point size 0.1, 0.2 (for the fine straight lines) 0.8 (for the panel lines)
artline markers
D'arte mural paint
