Facing robobrain pincerbots no less, classic.

Wonder who the brains belonged too before becoming what they are...

-thanks a lot man, wasn't sure about all the "pink", but since I was going for a retro feminine theme here....I figured "what the hell"!

I totally dig the retro-femme vibe and would be a strictly pinup guy if superhumans didn't appeal to me so much! Keep up the good work, bro!

like it? I am a big fan of the science fiction stories of the 30 and 40's. stories like the Fifth Dimension Catapult by Murray Leinster. The art you have for this poster is so exactly like the books I think its awesome. You nailed the style the feel for that generation. I want to ink for a guy like you, I mean ink in general. Wish i was in Florida to see it and your work. Keep it up and I look forward to more. Oh, and the colors are good, too.

...yeah the "Captain Altaira" (based the name on Ann Francis' character in the classic "Forbidden Planet") was initially part of a job application that fell through ,I did a series of four illustrations...this is the first one that I attempted to color.
thanks again for the compliments man

I honetstly believe that one is one of the best pieces I have seen on your gallery. I love the original Forbidden Planet along with The Day the Earth Stood Still(original version) those are two of my favorite movies. I had this john Carter of Mars vibe when i looked at it originally but you did a great job either way.

...yeah I agree old sci-fi in my opinion is the best sci-fi, not taking anything away from films like "Star Wars", or "Alien" but I just like the classics...just seemed more fantastic and amazing considering the time when they were released. I also love the original Howard Hawks version of "the Thing", Carpenter did a worthy remake but I still like the original....Also check out "the Blob" with a very young Steve McQueen.
I have never tackled a "John Carter" themed illustration, have seen some amazing art on the subject mostly of the Queen of Mars...might just have to tackle that one some day...also do a version of Edgar Rice Burroughs other adventurer...Tarzan!
-Thanks again for the kind words

I know the blob great movie and yes the Vegetable monster from the original thing was quite horrifying for its time. Tarzan would be a tough one, i know there s lot of critiques for how someone draws Tarzan, ecspecially Burroughs, at least from any die hard Tarzan fan. Enjoy.
