Description
A ferocious Grackle which is invading my backyard in Spring since last year. They may kill the songbirds, so I have no other choice than feeding them._________________________________________________________________

We have a lot of grackles, too in our yard, so we keep out the feeders as well, still they are very competitive at the feeders- but they usually knock a bunch out since they'd rather eat from the ground. Ours are more black/iridescent here, but I know they can vary a bit in colour! Thank you for sharing yours!

Ours are Bronzed (or Rusty) Grackles. They only come in springtime and I am glad about it because they are dangerous for the song birds.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, dear Tea!

Beautiful bird, but why do they have to kill the songbirds?!!

Thank you so much, Tom!
They are huge birds and they are known to kill - and eat part of - little birds. It is why I feed them so, they leave the birds alone.
