Description
This illustration is part of an introduction series about not so well known animals. It's a school assignment for my illustration class. The meaning of the series is to teach younger children more about non-cliche animals. Most of the animal books for children are about cats, dogs, horses, dolphins etc. and I want to change that. For this project I left out a lot of details to end up with a more stylized version of the animals used. In my opinion this is more fitting for younger children. I also used a very minimalistic background for each of them so that it's not too distracting.
Number 6: the keel-billed toucan. Beautiful birds with beautiful colours.

This series is amazing, I love how you've styled the animals! Your composition is great too, every piece is different. I'd be tempted to buy a copy of this book!

I particularly like this one. The use of space is really great. And those little tufts of grass are just fantastic. LoL, I just love them ^.^

thanks a bunch!
I wish I had one as a pet too, they're adorable. Aren't they expensive as pets? I never saw one in our local petstore.. But that's probably because it's very small -_-
