Description Trying to practice fleshy painting and techniques...

I've really been having a hard time with my art lately. I just never feel in the mood! Plus, I always feel like I can never achieve a truly impressive work, or at least not one I would enjoy...

The main problem though is that it takes up way too much time! I have a rough time navigating Photoshop for all the cool little features. Because I don't really have any shortcuts, painting takes up several hours! Even this sad little study took me at least 12-15 hours to complete and scattered across weeks! I just don't have as much patience anymore, and my lighting skills are still garbage no matter how hard I try.

I could really use some encouragement or help right now, what am I doing right? What tools can I use to help improve my paintings? What techniques do you have? Anything would help honestly.

This creature looks really cool! I have already mentioned that your imagination is incredible! And you never cease to amaze with the species you come up with! The design is very unique, the pattern of spikes is very interesting and these flowing colours look impressive! Your art is great! Keep it up!

I really love this actually, you're so creative with the way you incorporate all those beautiful organic shapes.

Looking at chiaroscuro might help you do better with lighting! It's art centered around the play of light and shadow, and it is very valuable reference.
