Particle hair can be converted to mesh, but it is usually VERY very dense in face count, and results in a memory intensive mesh.

What I've been doing lately is using a program called VRoid.Β It's a free program, a 3D CG anime character creator.Β At first it had only female templates, and the buttons were all in Kanji. Β Β Later versions finally included a male character, and English buttons and controls.Β (Translating the website can be quite a chore though.)Β The clothing selection is rather limited, but I don't use VRoid for full on character creation.Β For that, I have Reallusion Character Creator 3.
But, what I love about this VRoid program is that making hair is freakishly simple.Β Β You're basically drawing hair (usually curved, polygonal locks) onto a 3D anime character.Β The styling system is fairly robust.Β You can export your hair as a .obj file.Β Unfortunately, the textures don't go along with the file....but, texturing this hair in Blender is practically a snap...especially if you're using an older version of Blender (2.79).
I use VRoid to create hair meshes, Blender to texture them, Reallusion's Character Creator 3 to fit the mesh to CG avatars, and iClone to animate them.Β The hair physics in iClone still aren't quite up to snuff, but just to be able to have this workflow available.....I love it!

I only master the particles in Blender, do you know if I can make a full mesh of this hair? As judging by the settings, this effect is only for renders ...

well, there's many ways you can make it, by using particles and meshes, but i haven't tried yet using meshes, i remember that i saw a guy making a hair using meshes and converting them by objects, when we have the hair by mesh, we can export them and use it everywhere like using in unreal engine 4, unity and others...
how about the settings, the hair gonna be rendered by the engine that you're gonna be using. example: 3dsmax (vray or mental ray) , blender (internal or cycles) cinema 4d (vray), reality and others...

At the moment I tried only with particles in Blender. But they are displayed as a model only in rendering. But I am interested in a slightly different way - if I could create hair from particles and convert them into a model (OBJ or FBX), without activating rendering.

you can convert them by obj, there's a tutorial, try to search on google, how to convert particle hair to obj i remember that i already did this, i just dont remember now...

I think I found how to do it - need to adjust the particles on the appropriate tab (hair, etc.) and then apply them as a modifier and transform.
Thank you, again.Β Β

how are you able to individually edit the particle strands?

Hello bro, sorri for delay, select The strand and press H to hide, i guess if you press alt + alt, it will unhide all the strands, if not, try to Google: how to unhide objects in blender cycles
