Acrylic paint and marker pen on board.My work has always been influenced by artists who use a combination of beauty and horror in their art. My exploration into paintings of teeth and gums began when someone gave me a big box of fake plastic teeth that had been given to her by a dentist. These made me think about the meanings associated with teeth - the artificial beauty of cosmetic dentistry, the fear of a dentists drill, the rotting of teeth that have been badly cared for. This combination of aesthetic beauty and ugliness was the main idea in Green Teeth and Red Teeth.

I love the concept, and the execution is awesome. Also, I am a twisted person, and beyond the beauty of the piece, I also see a "hidden mickey".
