A walkthrough of my current work "December Chill". You might have to look closely to see the change in pictures, like 7 & 8 look the same but there is a difference in the shadows and lights in the mane. Anyway, I dont feel like going through the process step by step b/c I really dont have a method. I just work from one side to the other normally but then I stopped and tried to do a more broad shading which I think helped. I need to do that sooner next time. Anyhoo, enjoy and feel free to ask questions!

I've been trying for weeks to get a specific method in place, and being so artistically disinclined, I can't.
Did you use dodge and burn for the shading or did you use a colour palette?

I used a color palette for this one. But my other pictures I often do use burn (dont really use dodge a lot)for pictures that are dark. Dodge gives the shadows my depth without loosing detail.

Well, I had never done anything like this before. I think it took around 20 hours. I watch 4 different movies while working on it plus other tv shows, Hidalgo, Phantom of the Opera, Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. lol So those are really long movies.
