I was requested to show how I do grass. This is only how I recently started doing grass and I've found it works well and there are many ways to play with it and this is not the only way I have done grass, just the most recent.Hope you enjoy! if you have GIMP i Have downloadable grass brush in my favourites! I would give you the link but it's hard to do that with my computer (opening new tabs on this thing right now..psh)
