Warning: Huge File-Download and upload in photoshop for best viewing.This is my tutorial on feathering, specifically for Vanners, requested by *SquirrelyTodd in return for a new Vanner design she gave me! (Who you will be meeting soon since now she legs are already sketched.
She's featured in the tutorial)I actually had fun putting this together. It's my first tutorial so be nice! I'm glad I started off with doing something simple like this instead of a full blown tutorial. I don' t think I'm up for that yet.
But I hope this gives everyone some tips and helps you in your quest to draw feathered equines! Hair Coloring Tutorials by other which I have learned from:
=DaneStables ' Mane and Tail Tutorial -This is closest to how I do it too. *moodymand 's Grayscale Tutorial (part about hair is on the bottom)*Aomori 's Horse Tail Tutorial *katiecatapillar 's Video on mane Painting And there are probably many more I've looked at through the year I've been doing digital art.

Thank you! I know when i was getting into the feathered horses, i searched and searched dA but couldn't find a SINGLE tut on it ;-;
Too bad I don't have a tablet, but I can take this into account when I'm drawing. I don't do lines anymore >.< just lineless grayscale bases for me :/
