When given the choice between the crown and Katara, crown wins. Every time.I mean, hey, technically leadership of the Fire Nation DID belong to Azula...
No, I didn't spend any time on details or shading or backgrounds or anything with this piece. This was a gag that...many people could have pulled off better...but I don't think they were going to. So, yeah. Here we go.

And hey, I think Zuko would take some pleasure in being able to pay Katara back for all of those times she made him miserable....you may notice that Katara tends to suck all of the happiness out of Zuko when the two come into contact.
Don't worry, she survived! She just had to take Appa to the North Pole for a quick dip in the Spirit Oasis....
Things I'm proud of in this picture: Zuko's face and pose in the last panel. And the Fire Sage's finger.
This is my first "page-setup" comic, so the pacing is AWFUL and the humor is absent. It's practice! I'll get better! I hope.
Zuko and Katara belong to Avatar: the Last Airbender and Mike and Bryan.

Yes, I often thought about the outcome of the Agni Kai since by the rules Azula pawned Zuko ... so she should be made FL... Hmmm insane Azula with the official FL crown and garb ... rotting away in the mental ward ... strange image still ... kinda appealing. Anyone should fanart that. Pweease.

I saw this at TV Tropes--someone mentioned that since an Agni Kai is a strictly private duel, Azula forfeited the moment she shot at Katara, which would mean Zuko won, which would mean Katara killing is unecessary; which would mean we don't get to see Aang kick Zuko's butt for hurting his girlfriend, which would mean a painful absence of lulz, which is why I'm glad you did this comic!

Well, true, she DID break the rules there, which is probably what got Zuko's butt onto the throne, but I can see that being overlooked...especially because Zuko DID choose to take the bolt.

I dunno...I suppose that somewhere in the rules there's also the technicality that you need to be Fire Nation, or have your consort be Fire Nation, at the least...which leads to a whole new array of issues that I'm surprised members of the fandom haven't pounced all over yet. Because I can't be the only one who recognized that technicality. I mean, obviously, the Sages acknowledge Zuko's claim to the throne, and the challenge WAS a challenge for the throne...but Zuzu got lightninged and didn't beat his sister.
Who knows?
Aang could potentially rule the Fire Nation. XD They could both kick Zuko's butt out of there.

LOL That's true, Katara and Aang could kick his booty off that throne at any time. But, that whole "friendship" thing gets in the way, what with Zuko and Aang being BFFs and Katara being his new like...sister. Damn them and their morals.

although can u believe I only became a maiko fan after the boiling rock episodes?i thought the couple was boring and mai didn't care enuf about zuko at all,but after that I was like"omg,maixzuko all the WAY!!"

No yay for anti-Zutara....XD I try not to bash on that ship too much, it's not really good form. It's better to spend one's energies promoting their own ship, if that's what one wants.
Yes, TBR did its job...the creators were masters with that story, having Mai define her love like that. Death didn't matter...which then means that she has the same devotion to him in all of the previous episodes, which nullified almost every anti-Maiko argument.
In fact, I don't know if there are any more anti-Maiko arguments that can hold water....
