Description The outer area with the text is woodcut, the images in the center are silk screened.

This was done for class last semester. It's 26" x 48", the longest size that I could fit through the press at SIUC. It's much more imposing in person. Maybe someday I'll get some decent photos of my prints.

Inspired by the Protoman, again. I guess I just enjoy the propaganda quality of their imagery and that I can intentionally go for a gritty, vintage feel when so much of the art I do needs to be pristine.

I don't like the graphical quality of the armcannon, even though I toiled over it for a couple days. If it were rougher and didn't have that animated feel to it I'd be happy. Maybe over break I'll go back and carve the rest of this block out and do away with the silk screen aspect entirely. I do enjoy how the hand turned out, though. It would be a shame if I can't achieve the same effect without screen printing. Maybe screen print the colors of both images and then print the black of the armcannon and a black outline for the hand over them?

UPDATE 4/09:
All of these were sold through the Protomen at Anime Punch and whatever that con in Cave City, KY was last months. Thanks to all the lucky suckers who supported me and the band.

Thank you. Yeah, the went pretty quick...three shows and they were gone. Did you see the smaller ones based on the same design? The band still has a good supply of those up for grabs.

!!
No, I didn't see those. Then again, I wasn't really looking, cause I didn't really realize how awesome the band was until the car ride home with their CD. Everything at the concert itself confused me. XD

Ha, I can understand that! A lot of people don't know what to think of them if their first experience is a live show. Anyway, I'll post that one when I get a decent picture taken. I have a few still lying around my place somewhere...

So how exactly did your poster come to be sold by them? Are you good friends with them personally?

I stay in touch with a couple of them. Showed them a couple of posters and they were interested in selling them so I printed them and they did just that. Another fan gave them a bunch of posters she made....I'd seen the image online before she had them printed (maybe on flickr, I forget where) and it's totally kickass.

Oh wow, that's awesome. In that case, maybe they'd be interested in the poster I'm making... xD

I-I bought the poster of this. I had no clue you drew it!
You ROCK!

...Only trouble is I can't find a frame big enough for it.

Yup, that was me.

I'm having the same trouble...it's either make one myself of modify one from Hobby Lobby when they're on sale. You can get plexiglass cut at Lowe's or somewhere similar, much cheaper and lighter than glass.
